Jags..class

Player Valuation: £70m
Our midfield of Gibson, Pienaar, Osman and fellaini last season now compared to our new midfield of Barry, James and Ross, plus Osman, who would have thought we wouldn't miss Fellaini, Gibson and Pienaar this season. Crazy.

long term goal should be to get 2 quality players for every position. It will give us options and cover.

Barkley
Osman
Barry
Deulof

Mirallas
Macca
Gibson
Pienaar

looks damn good to me.

We should be able to buy barry i think that was some sort of agreement with the loan, Its just a shame that we wont be able to buy Lukaku

Where was Gibson today?

I said at the time of signing Barry that he'd probably be our most crucial signing, it's all well and good having a top class striker up top, but if we aren't going to have a midfield rock in the to steady the ship, then we'd be ****ed.

Gibson showed time and time again that he was a good player, but sadly showed that he was more injury prone than not, which is a shame, because the idea of Osman not getting back into the team is quite frankly something i;d be ecstatic over.

Where's Pienaar aswell?

It's good to have depth!

I think it's far too early to say we don't miss any of those three players, but especially Fellaini. There will be times this season where we'll see Barry look his age, or indeed McCarthy look his age, and wonder what could have been if we had Fellaini.

And despite the start to his United career, Fellaini is one of their best midfield options and I have no doubt he'll come on leaps and bounds.

That said, £27.5m was good business obvious and I'm very happy with the increased balance in midfield thus far. For all Fellaini's talents, keeping the ball moving quickly wasn't one of them, so perhaps he would have been the square peg in the round hole at Everton under Martinez - we'll never know for sure.

Gareth Barry is the one that makes everything tick, so I hope everyone doesn't panic if we go to the Etihad and get stuffed without him because we're still a work in progress and that has to be remembered.

Sums up my feelings well.

I think we're missing Pienaar at the moment. I think the flanks are a bit uneven, with either side having Osman/Naismith and Mirallas. Imo Mirallas and Coleman are at their best when playing on the same flank. Naismith doesn't really cut it on either flank for me. I think a reunion with Pienaar will help balance out the flanks again. Plus Bainaar is boss.

Is true- our left flank has been a shadow of its normal effective self. Which is fine because we're ace coming from everywhere now. But I think if Pienaar comes back in fit and raring and enables Baines to play at his most dangerous then we're in luck.
Said yesterday- I'm happy to trust Martinez ito Osman and Naismith. Two dull, unspectacular, 'sh1te' players, but we're getting the results aren't we? Given time I'm sure Deulofeu will jump ahead of them, but Naismith and Ossie are doing a great job.

It's certainly nice to have a few options in the middle of the park. Hopefully Deulofeu will gradually acclimatise to the English game and feature more often, which will allow Martinez the option of resting Barkley and putting Pienaar in the middle.

I'm assuming Barry is ineligible for the City game, so Gibson is likely to be in alongside McCarthy?

This might not be popular but I think we have seen the best of Pienaar and sorry but Gibson is fairly ordinary. I'd keep the team that started last night - although it looks like Mirallas has an ankle problem.
