Alright, I haven't seen anything at all of Ofoe (well other than that youtube video) and was wondering if from your guys view if he can replace Darron Gibson for the moment? Also any idea how long Gibson is out for? We fell apart without him this morning (my time).

From that video Ofoe looked to have a cracking shot on him, a decent eye for passing and some fairly good speed (all a lot more then Nevile :dodgy:)

To me he looks like a defensive midfielder with a creative streak. Sounds like he could be really tough competition for Gibbo and Felli. I imagine Gibbo will be sorted by the end of the break so we might have more time to settle Ofoe.

My Belgian mate is a Brugges S/T holder and reckons he's technically very good, strong and "a 10 goals a season box to box player".....Vincent Kompany has bugged him up too so maybe he's the perfect fit to play alongside Gibson rather than instead of him.

Seems a decent athlete as well, which should complement Gibson nicely. Two of them together with Felli in front of them sounds good.

I see Ofoe and Felli together in CDM as a rather decent pairing. Both with a decent range of passing, Felli with boss headers and chest control, Odjidja with the long shotsssss

Reminds me a bit of segundo castillo, not him as a player but the situation where everyone thinks, who? Judging by yesterday's game we could do with some more depth so nev never need be used like that again. Seems to me moyes was going for van athletic box to box player judging by the players we were linked to (essien, nzonzi), so hopefully he fits the bill.

I hope he can because it is definitely preferable to Neville playing there.

Hopefully Gibbo will be back fit by Newcastle anyway though.

Let's just hope we sign him first lads, otherwise I think we can re-evaluate the window a bit, seeing as we are left with only 4 central midfielders, 3 of whom are often playing in different areas of the pitch, and the other being injured.

The thing that worries me is, is Moyesy thinking of using Felli up behind Jelavic alot this season, cos some games it works, and yesterday it didnt.

Against 2 towering CB's like WBA have got, when we looked to hit Felli, the majority of time it was food and drink for the 2 defenders in the air.

I think we needed to have pace and movement in behind Jelavic and have either Pienaar, Mirallas, Naismith or Ossie inter changing and being fluid and getting by and around there defence that way as there not the quickist of defences.

Felli didnt have an effect on the game like he did the United one, and although he had a good game at Villa, he wasnt as colossus as against Man Utd i dont think. So some games it might take playing a little player with good technique and movement who makes runs and plays give and goes and play around defences sometimes as apposed to playing Felli further forward and going long and feeding off the knock downs?!.

The thing with the new lad, Odjidja-Ofoe, he seems box to box like Gibbo & Felli so wouldnt be a natural attacking mid and IMO wouldnt be able to play further forward consistantly, like i dont think Felli can. Dont get me wrong, he'll have blinding games up there, like against United, but he'll have his days like yesterday aswell, but me personally i prefer him deeper alongside Gibbo.

Some games i'd like to see us use Mirallas - Naismith - Pienaar inbehind Jelavic, all having a liscence to roam and change and be fluid and bamboozle defences, making em think, shall i go and follow or stay and leave em free and leave doubt in there minds. And if we get no joy, stick Felli up there and look to hit him and feed off the knock downs and try to create/score from that.

Football Manager pro I am.

I think Moyes is going for a 4-4-1-1 formation which reverts to a 4-2-3-1 when attacking.

- Jelavic -

- Pienaar - Fellaini - Osman -

- Ofoe - Gibson -

- Baines - Distin - Jagielka - Neville -

-Howard -

Ofoe and Gibson will stay back, one a bit more than the other as the front 4 and maybe Baines work an attacking strategy, Ofoe would push a little bit more left to cover the space left from Baines.

Gibson can develop play and also support the right back meaning that Osman can stay in an attacking role ready for the counter.

osman on the right? nada. nobody knows how this ofoe boy will do yet/if he signs. felli staying in DM for me, naismith's link up with jelavic has convinced me enough to put him ACM with mirallas on the right

If we had a manager with a Laudrup/Martinez type mindset with the eye for players that Moyes posesses then we would be unbeatable
