What's an understatement ? He's a pretty bog standard PL midfielder really. He's never going to be top drawer.

But still a far superior midfielder to the defenders we often have in there.

He got a good forward thinking mind and an eye for good through balls plus he keeps moving and offering himself as an option for the man on the ball.

Simple stuff but something we often lack in centre mid.

Thats why we seemingly improve when he does play.

I've said it before but its all about balance. You play players in the correct positions (lol Bily) and ask them to do what they're good at then you've got the basis of a very good team.

Then it comes down to the quality of the invidual.

Not seen today, but I can imagine what he offered. Said it before like many others, I firmly believe he's one of those unspectacular players who goes unoticed (apart from these type of threads) but will offer more to the team than we think. For what we paid, it was a truly great buy

*still sell him on FM

He isn't scared to try to be creative without overstepping his mark. A couple of through balls today, if they'd had a foot more pace on them we'd have been in. He also got stuck in and broke things up nicely. That's all I ask of him. Therefore, he had a cracking game imo.

Dont see the creative side minus some simple forward passes.

But thats me.

Not having a dig. Just my view on him, just like peoples view on how **** rodwell or how much of a liability drenthe is etc.

I was awed by that left footed bolt of thunder he sent towards the goal, which the keeper saved.

And the scissor kick by Jelavic after that.

Bottom line for him: not the greatest player ever, but he does what he does very well, as simple as it may be. He offers something to the team which we obviously lack, because we seem calmer and better when he's on the pitch.

He's good there.

I've not seen it with him but mentioned in the match thread today what a good game he had. Worked hard and was disciplined in his positioning and used the ball well, he looks to spread the play on the attack which is something we lack. Always looking for a forward pass in the second half.

Good game, need to see more of that from him.
I noticed that and like it, even though it didn't always come off. You can see the influence of coming through the raks at Utd there. We needn't worry. Moist will knock that out of him.
