He's still got alot to do for me, that second half performance was the first time he's shown me anything since his first 45 minutes against Villa. He puts in a decent defensive shift but he's got to be a hell of a lot more when we have the ball. That includes moving and making himself available, which I haven't seen enough of. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll be a good squad player for us, and it's a snip considering what we picked him up for, but we aren't talking about the Irish Makelele here. I can't stand it when people try to convince me that midfielders who are invisible are somehow doing the unsung work.

look what the RS payed for Charlie Adam and Henderson and they are not better than Gibson
a fit Rodwell won't get ahead of him in the side he does a job there for Everton.

Can't believe some of the negative comments about him.

Gotta be honest I wasn't too please when we signed him but he's been a solid performer, I don't think we've lost when he plays? No coincidence that. Our football today was exceptionally better and I was very surprised having talked all week about us getting played off the park, Gibson and Fellaini should be the first choice Central pairing for me.

Rodwell's probably a better player than Gibson, or, at least, should turn into a better player than Gibson. But, as others have pointed out, it's a team game and it's as much about balance as talent.
