Tomorrow is my birthday, I am 67. I played my last competitive football match when I was 45. I still have a pair of boots, just in case some team are stuck and they need an experienced defender.
I have been very lucky over the years managing to avoid serious injuries, I have had a couple of broken ribs, a broken nose and a broken finger and a multitude of stitches but no major bones broken.
I still do a full time job, I have a 70 mile commute tomorrow but will be home early as we have people coming round for a bit of a party, drink will be taken. Off Wednesday and back at it on Thursday and Friday.
Age is not just a number, it is a mindset, if you think and act old you will be old. I see and know people who are much younger than me but they have old heads on their shoulders and they then are old.
When I think of it the only negative or depressive thing I do is support Everton, if they pick up and start winning I will live to be 100.
