''sad self righteous kudos'' - what other forums do you belong too? (regards everton)

none. TW forum then GOT.

If we had crosses swords on other forums I wouldn't hide behind a new pseudonuym. Not my style. Nothing to hide.

Candour ends paranoia, as someone once said.

i hate to point the flip side out to you, but when we give sides a severe footballing lesson and they somehow (by fair means or foul) walk away with the three points - i feel robbed.

honest sporting endeavour deserves the rewards.

all this [Poor language removed] about decisions/results evening out over a season is utter utter horse [Poor language removed].

show me referee responsibility, video replay judges, and proper condemnation for cheats in the courts after the fact.

i cant condemn the worst perpetrators because everton are mildly better, everton shold be a bastion of fair play and sportsmanship.

justice must prevail.

as for the earlier thing, i need to be somewhat more sober to address it.

agree with you on referee responsibility.

but the rules of the game do stipulate that the team that scores the greater amount of goals wins. I believe in the arsenal game you mentioned we did that.

[Poor language removed] them if they couldn't beat our keeper, our back four our holding midfielder or the tactics moyesie used that day.

as for cheating we are currently top of the fair play league in the prem.

Aside from some potential gamesmanship from pienaar (not seen the replays myself to provide a concrete opinion on the subject) we are exemplary in that regard.

there are individuals that say cahill and pienaar could have easily been sent off at pompey.

im very glad they werent.

i want it on merit, i want everton to be the club others want to be.

we have to condemn divers and fake card show-ers because i guarantee you we castigate other sides players for doing it.

I think the fans do condemn that suits. Arteta was diving a fair bit when he arrived - don't think he does anymore, after fans and management intervention - although he is apparently the most fouled player in the premiership.

Think this is more down to defenders frustration than any gamesmanship. He's just a hell of a lot better than most footballers in the world.

Not seen any player waving imaginary red cards but do inform me if that has happened. I'd honestly be mortified.

arteta had a habit of waving the imaginary yellow card at refs.

its not been done for a while.

hopefully that is the case that will remain.

as for pienaar, he needs to undertand it isnt tolerated, aj suffered enough last season through that stigma, and also needs to realise this is england in britain, not the continent where diving is rewarded instead of condemned.

god, can't you find any positives?

If we win tomorrow and results go our way, we could be in fourth place in the league.

We are in the semi final of the league cup.

We qualified for europe last season, beat a good team in the playoffs, steamed through the group stage and are now awaiting the final playoffs in the UEFA cup. We have the FA cup coming up as well.

We have successively beaten our transfer record on proven talent, have found a gem for virtually nothing (if you can consider 2 million or so nothing, which I suppose it is in the modern game) in Pienaar, are looking to buy another player either this January or summer and have the best squad since the 80s.

Get your swimming cossie on and jump in that royal blue sea, the water is wonderful.

Suits, always remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, despite the builders estimate.....................we all agree that we are getting there and I don't want it rushed. Let the league cup be the acorn of our growth(y) (y)

We've already achieved a lot this season - semi-final, knockout stage of uefa cup (finishing top) and playing some great football at times. That all shows we are improving, whether our league position will reflect that or not is a different story, but lets hope we can show that we are the next side to break into the top 4, not Pompey, not Man City and definitely not Tottenham

just realized this has nothing to do with the current convo, but whatever :D

We have come a long way since that cold night last season when Spurs beat us at home. I was one of those who ranted at DM for his tactics at that and other games (Man City in particular).
Perhaps it was the turning point but only Davey himself will know what has changed that totally negative mindset into the manager he is today.
I too am very, very happy at the moment, we are playing some lovely FOOTball and are never giving up until the whistle has gone.
Compare this years' game v Birmingham with any one of last years' performances.
We would have no doubt sat it out for a draw. Not anymore!
I would guess that there have been a number of significant moments in DM's learning process - Spurs home last season, the injustice of the derby this season, the home game v Metallist and possibly the home v Birmingham.
In each of these matches, something very significant has happened and it seems to have galvanised the manager and the team and spured us on to better things.

I was always a bit of a 'not sure' about Davey but he has certainly proved he can do the business.
Please God, not Hibbo at RB and Nev and Jags in midfield though!

Christ you're frustrating.

There seems to be 2 suits in this thread.

One who loves Everton and wants nothing but the best for them. Wants to see them winning the Premiership by being the best footballing club and not relying on being cheating [Poor language removed].
One who like Moyes, like me and a lot of other people believe the League Cup is 5th in our priorties.

And that suits i fully agree with and respect.

Yet the other suits who rears his ugly head is one who seems quite happy to piss over any acheivment, who pisses over other supporters happiness at us winning games.
And one who seems to think we have a devine right to be the best team and win everything. We dont.

For a long time we have been languishing near the bottom of the Premiership with no hope of winning anything. Yet when we are flying in the league, the UEFA cup and League Cup which is major progress and worthy of nothing but applause you piss on it by saying its not good enough.

Yet you fail to see the point thats you cant run before you walk. Liek someone said earlier, Rome wasnt built in a day. And Everton are not gonna go from perennial relagtion candidates to the best team in Europe in just a few years.

But if all you can do is make derogotory remarks about succesful steps up the ladder you are gonna get called on it.
