Minutes silence will hopefully be impeccably reserved. Let's show our neighbours how proper clubs behave.

National anthem I don't have a problem with, Everton are an English club so no idea why the British national anthem causes so much anger to certain peeps. But then I'm proud to support my country at international level which some can't seem to accept.

70 minute applause, token gesture which isn't needed in my opinion.

Absolutely ridiculous that we can't play Zcars / Spirit of The Blues etc.

I hope no one boos the national dirge (sorry anthem).

I hope it is impeccably observed at Goodison on Sunday.

(although I know it won’t be)

Not because I object to anyone booing that awful racist, sectarian dirge with its anti Scottish, anti Catholic sentiment.

I booed it lustily at Wembley in 1986 with 100,000 other fans of Scouse football teams.

And again in 1995.
100,000 booed in 86? Sounded more like about a few 100 to me- some whistling at the beginning which soon died down. Hardly anyone booed in 1995.

Pfffffttttt!

Nice one kev, but also read the rest of the thread with people being irrationally mad about having a minute's silence because of the passing of a monarch.

Also yeah, you're making generally a huge deal out of literally next to nothing. It's not like they're taking people to the centre of the pitch and shooting them, it's a minute of silence. lol

So yeah, it's entertaining. People are preemptively getting mad about nothing. What's there not to enjoy out of this?

Wonder what @davek thinks about this situation. He always has a balanced and unbiased view.
Booooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just said my conditions for booing there...

Just because the mutants across the park do it doesn't make it wrong. In fact I wish we had a bit more anti British pride in us as the original Catholic club in the city.

I would agree with you about booing an old woman if we were showing up at her private funeral and doing so. But they're asking you to stay silent for a minute and show respect to the POSITION of the queen. Not the woman herself. It would be the same if any other ruling monarch died. Booing is a normal reaction
Eh!! are you sure. I know we originated from a methodist church. Don't think we have or really had any allegiance to a religion

Each to their own mate, but i much prefer to boo the living, booing someone who has passed is beneath me and should be beneath all people. Like i say, dont stand, turn your back or whatever, but breaking a minutes silence is shows zero class in my opinion.
