Gerard Deulofeu

Has the player actually agreed to go back to Barca?
Given his previous experiences there and his lack of first team opportunities again if he were to return. What's in it for him?

Just because Barca say they want to exercise the clause doesn't mean its a done deal, just that Barca want him back at a previously fixed price.

Would he not prefer somewhere he's going to get a game occasionally considering that was why he left them in the first place.

He wants the return, of course he does, why wouldnt he.

That just says Barca want to exercise the buy back. Deulofeu would still have to want to go back.

Considering he's gone out on loan many times looking for first team football it's hardly likely he's going to go back to sitting on the bench at Barca is it.
Just seems a little odd to me, especially when nothing has been heard from the player about it.

Fine if we are happy just to get him off the books but easily get in the first team at other clubs who'd pay more than Barca. Buy-Backs/first refusal clauses work both ways, only if the player actually wants to go back do they work.

Clearly you didnt watch the video of him saying how happy he is to be going back to Barca.

I wonder if Barca really do want him as a regular first team player. Apparently their fans were upset about them letting Sandro Ramirez go elsewhere , so letting another young Spaniard escape wouldn't go down well and it may be seen as the easy option for them to buy him back , they won't lose out if they have to eventually sell him . Not great prospects for Gerri though if he can't get the regularl game time he needs.

I think Geri will do well at Barca if he is happy with the role of "super sub", coming off the bench to open up teams. The role I was hoping he'd play for us.

He will play loads IMO, MSN need resting from time to time, plus of course there will be injuries at times for all 3, plus a team like Barca normally fights on all fronts for trophies, plenty of game time, he clearly wont be first choice, but I think he will do ok.

Especially in WC year. He'll be 28 when the next one comes around.

Can only think he's been promised game time to agree to the move.

How often have you seen them rested though mate?. If they're fit they play.

Del
They normally play a 2nd string in the Copa Del Rey and when they play the teams they smash 8-0 he can play then.

The Spanish League is utterly tosh bar 3-4 teams, the rest are utter fodder.
Dels not getting in the Spanish WC squad playing Copa del Ray games Goat. Except for injuries I cant see him getting much game time. Unless Barca have decided they are going to drop Messi back into a midfield playmaker role. There has been talk of that. as I said. I can only think he's been promised regular game time to agree to the move.

What hes promised and what he gets are 2 very different things.

Injuries could end up being a deciding factor, Suarez seems well nigh indestructible (much to Mirallas's disappointment) but both he and Messi are 30 now where niggling issues can start to become harder to get over.

Both will also want to play in the world cup so are more likely to want to take an extra week or so off periodically so they are fresh for that.
