I really wonder what happened when Lennon came in to the team a couple years ago and completely displaced Deulofeu.
We could have retained him if there was a will. There wasn't any. I dont accept that he cant cut it here. He was our most exciting player for a long, long time. He was and is still pretty young and has all the talent to develop into a top player...and if it really is true (and I doubt it) he also has time to physically mature and impose himself over a greater period of a game...although I have no time for all the perspiration over inspiration worship that seems to be de rigueur.Dave mate, this wouldn't and shouldn't have been an issue if a) the old guard hadn't agreed to a silly buy back clause to push the deal through and b) the lad had the stamina to back up his skill enough to play in this League. He thrived in Serie A and will likely thrive if given a chance at Barca as both leagues are mostly slower and have more emphasis on skill than English football
This manager doesn't want that type of player...or Barkley...and Dowell may as well pack his bags now.I'm just hoping we have an inside forward lined up of high quality. Going into the season with dross like Bolasie and (regardless of mental health, I mean ability only) Lennon is not a prospect I look forward to. Lookman may be good, but if we want to seriously challenge we now need at least two offensive players of top quality to go alongside Sandro.
I think we'll regret letting Deulofeu leave like this for years to come. And we certainly let him leave - that clause was optional, the player could have refused if he was given any reason to.
As in 'are we not men?' and 'Jocko Homo' ? Great band.Devo'd.....

He likes to press. Great. That's nice.
7th is never alright.Well if that makes us finish 7th instead of 11th then that's fine by me.
