@Zatara is spot on.

Del is an assist machine, even when he's playing badly he just takes one moment of genius to unlock defences.

Sod overall play, and yes other players can look 'generally' better but have far less chance of creating a goal than Del.

He reminds me of Ronaldo before he became consistent.

He just needs to be played as often as possible and he'll create more goals than any other player in our team.

Exactly, also Lukaku has even nicknamed him "The Assister" so clearly recognises where he is most likely to receive quality balls from.

Some of the best players around didnt do much during games but it just takes one or two moments of magic.

Yep,Yep I agree, but when the good players went missing for most of the game, it was against the big boys that they could turn on
the magic, not WBA or Bournemouth. He lacks bravery, strength, lack of 'Bottle' in front of goal, he badly needs a tape of Trevor Steven.
I don't believe you or anyone else will be able to save the so called 'Assister'. I truely hope that you and him prove me wrong.

So if you have 1 shot, that hits the post and goes in, does than mean you have scored with no shots on target?

haha tbh mate I'm not sure. I'm guessing it would then count as a shot on target... But I know the rule is that if a strike hits the woodwork it doesn't class as 'on target'.

While I get that, it's just annoying to then see stats skewed somewhat when an aimless cross or pot-shot from 30 yards does count.

I actually know for a fact that now that Boro up until the window closed had all the media stuff set up for a last minute signing that never came through. They also sold Adomah and Reach, their best winger and one of their better youth prospects (and a winger) on deadline day and replaced him with Adama Traore, an unproven winger in the prem who couldnt get into the Villa side. These are all pretty much concrete fact mate, so even if i thought the guy who told me about the deulofeu stuff wasn't honest you can get there with a not too great leap of faith.

With that said I do actually agree with you; think we need to be careful of having a huge squad and five wingers at the club for two positions (assuming brahimi came in and deulofeu didnt go) is a bit ridiculous for a side without europe. indeed the focus has been on quality now, and not in the immediate future, and koeman seems to not be so convinced of Gerry as Martinez was. this might be wrong but he shows body language similar to what he does whenever McCarthy messes up; bit more disappointed than usual, its hard to explain. Nevertheless, I was happy for us to keep Deulofeu and not sign Brahimi if thats what Koeman's plans were, as I think the lad can really go on to prove Ronald wrong! :)

And of course, hopefully i'm completely wrong about Koeman's opinion of Del, as he's boss! ;)
Thank god we didn't get Brahimi and receiving 20m for Gerry would have explained how we could afford the 40m for him assuming we had the TV money to spend.

If he's been managed by

Pep Guardiola, Luis Enrique, Emery, Del Bosque, and subsequently dropped by all of them, why would Koeman not be onto him if Martinez was?

At one point Tom Cleverly was higher in pecking order than him.

Attitude (Not wanting to be fit)

Not wanting to track back

Not want to play in a team

Are reasons why.

He is our best player most skillful and most exciting on his day but he will never change unless he realises this is his last shot under a new manager as Everton will be best he will get

(Crowd and fans love him and he's said he wants to be here for many years)

He will go down the pecking order again now we have Bolasie and Mirallas on form... Up to him to force his way back in... Will he do it? Time will tell, I think not and personally I would of sold him to Boro.
How does someone become our leading assists maker only playing a couple of months if they are greedy?

All those managers a) managed teams with far superior players than us and b) at a much earlier point in his career.

Seriously he's a kid and I would like to think Mirallas and Bolasie who cost 28m are more productive than him even though alas they aren't.

A good example of this was n last season's Goodison derby.

He hadn't been in the game much then out the blue he produced a wicked cross which a hapless defender could do nowt with except tee it up for Rom :)

Him and Kev will have great seasons this year.

Lennon will be as useful as ever, obviously Bolasie too who looks like he's settled quickly - could just do with a goal to get him going.
International break will do us no harm in the respect. Allows the new signings time to further adjust. I'm a big believer in team cohesion and it creating a team greater than the sum of its parts. And we've got some pretty good parts at present.
