Barca aren't going to use their buy back clause. They're one of of the best teams in the world. Despite his obvious talent Deulofeu couldn't get into an appalling Everton team for large parts of last season.

Right now, I feel that there will be little or no concern from those within the club that Barca will be looking at using their option to buy him back.

Potentially a fantastic player but lacks consistency and seems to mentally or physically lack stamina (blowing out of his arse far too often!).

At the current moment would he get anywhere near the Barca starting XI? What about their bench regularly? For me it's a resounding no.

If the situation changes throughout the season because of a increase in his status then surely we'd look at it, but right now it seems unnecessary.

Obviously you've also got a potential Morata situation, whereby Real are looking at using their buy back option to then sell him on for a profit.

Yet again I don't see that as currently a likely option as I doubt his value has rose too much; if it does then refer back to whereby it'll be dealt with.

The money we've got should be spent on strengthening the squad rather than further securing an asset simply based on possible outcomes.

true it does feel a bit scary still though he's obviously talented who knows if
heel be playing alot more there instead of Lennon next season
but i didnt really think they can't sell on straight away and he'd rot reserves/bench/loan

I believe he may be referring to the ideal that Deulofeu may not be in Koeman's long term plans for the club as he doesn't fit his profile of players.

That may be of interest for you as well @COYB. I'd like the idea of him starting more regularly under Koeman as he has undoubted talent and skill.

Yet from what I've seen and read Koeman likes players who put a shift in as well as being talented. Does he really meet both criteria?

Although to be fair I think a fair few of the players may be shocked this year as we seemed to lack so much fitness last year compared to others.

I will never argue with anyone who says he can be inconsistent in his "overall" play but even when he's not playing well he is amazingly productive. He can give the ball away quite frequently but he is dangerous, even when he's not in good form.

Martinez was useless and benched Del. It didn't suprise me when our form dropped off a cliff in the second half of the season. Not only were will still conceding goals but we'd lost our ability to score. Del is our most creative player and should have been playing the vast majority of our games.

If he ever increases his consistency he will just blow teams away. Only Ozil is more productive with assists in relation to games started. We need to keep Del, get a good coaching team to help him improve and just give him games.

He's only young and I feel he's got so much more to give, he just needs time.

I know football is about opinions but anyone who doesn't want us to keep Del is crazy.

If it were my choice we'd pay Barca to get the buyback clause out of his contract and extend his deal.

I agree. Hopefully big rons new fitness coach will get him right. Can't wait to see him and mirallas in the same team next season.
