It's difficult trying to read inbetween all the nonsense that's being reported in the press, but it would be fair to say that it appears that he's had a pretty rough ride since he left us, both on and off the pitch. It must be a bit of a confidence drainer to be named in the worst eleven in La Liga. I think the fact that he knows he's well liked by the fans here and also he won't be crucified for everything he does wrong could be a big deciding factor for him. Let's face it all the clubs getting linked with him are going to pay very similar wages. Sometimes players just take to a club and the fans.
