When Deulofeu played on instinct he was excellent, when he had to stop, think about it and make a decision then not so good. But more first team action will address that issue. Reading some of his comments over the summer he struck me as something of a cocky little sod who thought he could walk into the Barcelona first team squad and he seemed rather indignant to be farmed out to Sevilla. He has the makings of a very good player indeed and in the meantime his pace and direct play is plenty enough to be a considerable threat.
