Farhad Moshiri on the new stadium project: “We try to keep the fans as informed as the Board. We want to work with them, and the message to them is that we have to have a stadium and we will have a stadium.”

FM: “When the building work starts, that’s when the proof is in the pudding. So we want to get to that stage, but until we get there it is only at the preparation stage."

Farhad Moshiri: “We have a multi-year plan. There will be bumps on the road but the plan is intact and resolutely we go through that plan to achieve. All clubs have money now – four out of five pounds is TV income. So there is plenty of money. There is big investment everywhere so an enormous amount of work is needed just to keep the status quo. To move above that takes extraordinary efforts but it is efforts by me, the Board, recruitment – we should get everything right and can’t make mistakes – and also the fans, to work with us and understand where we are. I put my hand in my pocket, so I am the end of the chain but, after that, the whole process needs to make sure the investment is used rightly. I think we have taken all the steps to make sure we are efficient. We make mistakes, everyone does, and we must learn from our mistakes and avoid them. But no single setback will derail us. We are on the road and we will get there."

technically we'd still be on the road ......

FM: “We are progressing well. We have secured the land, which is the most essential thing. We picked the land that we thought the fans would prefer - an iconic site.

“That is something that Everton needs. We need to have a better stadium and that’s what we have to do.”

But surely if it was the SPV as outlined last year he would have said, "We are close to securing the funding for 2/3rds of the Stadium cost as outlined in the SPV that was released in 2017"... the fact he didn't leads to the conclusion from what has been said that the Council are funding it
yeah and the council are making money off the deal. I can't remember the figure but it was like 10-15 mil a year off the deal
I'm sure it was only 6

There MUST be clarification on this "2/3rds LCC financing" by end of evening.

The fact that Elstone stated on NYE that investment was proving difficult tends to make me believe that they ARE saying that LCC will be funding directly and that they hope they can do this and then go to the private sector for the remainder.
I honestly cannot see why people have jumped to the assumption that the council is funding 66% of the stadium directly.

My interpretation was that the original SPV agreement is still in place but because the cost estimates are growing this now only represents 66% of the total funding required.

FM: "I have followed Sam for many years. I read his autobiography before recruiting him so he is a real man and it is real football. What you can see is he is a good tactician, but he has a tidy football brain, he makes things simple and he makes things clear."

Moshiri on why he hired Allardyce:

"I was impressed on the two occasions we met and I enjoyed his entertaining autobiography."

...maybe Joey Barton in the summer then?
That isn't what he said though is it.

"I have followed Sam for many years. I read his autobiography before recruiting him so he is a real man and it is real football. What you can see is he is a good tactician, but he has a tidy football brain, he makes things simple and he makes things clear." is a bit different.
