PMSL at Anderson's comment about his legacy being to persuade Peel to ok the stadium plan...I can assure Joe Anderson if he's throwing £300M of a poor city's cash at a footy stadium Peel's conversion most definitely wont be his legacy!

I cant get my head round it being like that. Like £300m wiped off the LCC budget would never happen. Rightly so.

But other than LCC facilitating a council backed loan, which isnt miles away from the SPV thing.

Odd turn of events.

SA: "It was difficult to enter a football club struggling on the field. I think the club was a victim of its own success the year before, qualifying for the Europa league. Nine major injuries and the games played contributed to the position it was in."

SA: “My initial concern was putting the first-team in position where it can win matches. We lay bottom of league in terms of conceding goals, so that was the first thing we had to put right, and the players’ response to that was excellent. The turnarounnd has given us a bit of stability to move on.”

Anderson wouldn't be talking about 'invest to earn' if LCC were only helping with the SPV. Unless they're all saying the wrong things.

If LCC were just handing over the £300m for a football stadium, I doubt he'd be claiming it was a good deal for LCC either. I imagine clarification will be given from the club/Anderson later, or tomorrow, as it seems to have confused people. The more worrying aspect for me would be EFC finding the extra finance on top of what we get from this SPV deal, and how quickly we can get that in place. I imagine that is what is slowing things down, but these are only my assumptions.

SA: "Seamus Coleman has just started training, Leighton Baines is a bit further off a return, we have Yannick back and, hopefully, James McCarthy can continue to improve us."

I agree mate. I refuse to believe this is the plan after all the hullabaloo over the SPV shielding the council tax payers etc.
