I think he is alright, got some premiership experience and my mate who is a Portsmouth fan, was surprised when they sold him to 'boro.

sign him up moyes, get Tuncay and Adam Johnson while your there.

After hearing that Hunt was off to Hull, and we wern't interested....I had hoped that meant we were aiming for a higher class of player and a big name. looks like i was very wrong. :(

Senderos and O'Neill...people are kidding themselves if they think we can expect better than that, imo. I'd be reasonably satisfied woth those two in the bag at this stage.

Why get Defour when we can get O'neill?!!!!

Things = bad 2 worse.

Probably because we can't afford anything better than O'Neill

The best talent are going to cost a fortune. We just can't afford much it seems.

All of those so called bids for random players must have been "we will give you feck all now and pay you just enough over the next 50 years deals."

Our club must obviously be skint.

For me he's not a improvement on what we got already, don't rate him at all

Read somewhere they want 4million for him

Are they havin a laff

Next please... Don't spose we can clone players these days.

He's actually not a bad player. Not going to set the world alight, but a decent player to have. Quite versatile and a good squad filler. He would compete with Osman for the right midfield position. On a par with Osman for me but O'Neil has a better engine and is a stronger

edit: He has an eye for goal as well, to be fair like.

Agreed. People forget that Moyes is looking to increase the numbers. Sure O'Neil is not better than what we've got already but he's a hard worker and perhaps that's what Moyes sees in him.

My thoughts exactly. He'd give a hell of a lot more protection to the RB than Osman does for a kick off. On that point, I'm gutted for Coleman that he didn't get the chance to stake his claim this pre-season. Probably only run outs in the early rounds of the Carling Cup and maybe a sub appearances or two in Europe if we get through the League stage handily for him now. :(

Scored against us at Goodison last year. [Poor language removed]. :P

I think Coleman might actually have what it takes to make it here, he's looked promising whenever I've seen him. I watched him against Spain last year for Ireland under 21s and obviously in pre-season this year.

On O'Neil, I'm not so sure to be honest. He'd certainly be useful but he is around Osman's level, doesn't really help us to be honest. I have a feeling Moyes would still pick Osman over him if he was signed.

I'd rather go for a wide player with a bit more about them. Even taking a gamble on a youngster from Holland, Spain or Portugal with good technical ability. I'm a bit sick of tired of seeing decent, up and down 'runners' playing in our midfield.
