You'd think Sky or the BBC would make a bigger fuss of a legendary player like Barry retiring .
He may not be the best midfielder or left sided player ever but the amount of games he has played at a consistent level is incredible .
He never played for the RS or Utd though so I shouldn't expect so much .
When Giggs retired , the whole of the BBC news room wept .

Quality from day one on and off the pitch, with a quiet confidence and work ethic that puts our current midfield incumbents to absolute shame. Could play in a number of positions better than some specialists.

A Proper great player for us - you only really missed him when he wasn't in the side.

Well earned rest for you gazbaz and thanks - I know you have been well rewarded from your playing days, but you are one of the few footballers who I can say earned and maybe even deserved it.

Master of the snide yellow card on the half way line, everytime he was potentially exposed for speed.
Wasnt going to let the Ozil situation ever happen again

One of my best memories of Barry was the windup job he did on Costa against Chelsea. Think we won that game 2-1,but Barry was glued to him, made small snide fouls, grabbing and pushing Costa who was visibly nearing complete eruption until he threw a wobbler and got sent off. Excellent player, astonishing jawline, might make a good pundit

lol Look at Cleverly the silly sausage. Barry knows he’s got him. What a great player for us.
