I think it is 100% certain it won't happen but it would be worth it just for the media response to us acting above our station.
It would also take the gloss off our neighbours winning the title as it certainly would raise the question about our ambition and ability to spend going forward.

Yes, it wouldn’t effect normal teams but they’re a very strange bunch. They’re only a few months away from seeing their team win a league title they’ve waited for and longed for 30 years; yet all they do is talk about us.

Ancelotti and us putting planning permission (not even a spade in the ground) for BMD is killing them. Any high profile signing will cut deep, not that I think we would ever get Bale but RS WhatsApp Groups will be burning up talking about it tonight I guarantee you that.
