Game Of Thrones: Season 8

I know this is very different to the books but I assume Daenerys going mad was mapped out by GRRM just strangely executed

Agree. Dont have a problem with her following her fathers footsteps but as has been pointed out, to go from angry to genocidal in a flash was in poor taste. This is the character who saved thousands of innocents, freed slaves and chained her dragons up for killing a kid, then goes and kills all those people after the surrender?

We should have seen the slow progression over years.

Do people not think that losing your 'child' and best friend, being betrayed by the people you trust and rejected by the person you love in the space of a couple of weeks could make you snap and live up to what people have said you will do by going mad? And surely going mad with an immense amount of power behind you would only go one way. Ir didnt need a long time to build up, when people can snap and break quickly, happens in real life all the time to people.

Yes but the laying waste to kings landing after the surrender was out of character. If the bells had not been rung then it would be more believable but she could have flew straight to the red keep and burned it down. Innocent people would have died but its understandable.

I didnt like the whole Bronn scenario either.

Like I said earlier, it would have been so much better to have the white walkers play a bigger part and end up in an epic battle with Arya killing him at the end or the knight king winning and adding them all to his army of the dead or something.

This is just poor

The main indicator this series is bad is that this episode finished, there’s only one more to go EVER, and I’m not even like excited for it.

Should not be that way at all.

Cant remember a series that was so good but then totally ruined in its final season and panned by a good chunk of its fanbase.

This was the best part of the episode.

The way they filmed that even left me disappointed to be honest, although did like the last few seconds.

I can't stand the way they now put characters in certain death situations and keep them alive longer. The Mountain was physically superior to the Hound the whole scene, picked him up and was about to crush him like he's done before but because it's the Hound and they wanted a more interesting death, they just kept him going.

Much preferred Oberyn vs the Mountain, which was a great scene and produced a shocking end.

The whole thing felt forced, which says it all really.

It was obviously hinted that Dany was going to Mad Queen it at some point, but it came out of thin air in this episode. It all felt really contrived rather than a genuine reaction. The Jon/Dany romance kind of killed whatever tension there could have been as well. I can’t take it seriously anymore. I mean- I couldn’t before, but it’s a comedy at this point.

Next, Jaime’s death seems like one of those “well, we have no more use for him really. Kill him off” moments. It would have been much more fitting had Jaime died defending the Tarly’s. Am I the only one that doesn’t give a flip about any of the characters? They are all wank at this point. They have been wank for a while really.

Oh, I know there are holes, but I've read lots about how she should have been built up over a few seasons to be mad. But she didnt need to be.

Forgot about Dany, she’s irrelevant to the mess they’ve made of it

the whole Tyrion ratting out Varys, friend since season dot, both believe in the greater good, both want a true leader with no blood shed. Yet after Tyrion already suspects dany is about to go off her tits he turns him in. Nope

Then Varys’ letter. Writing a treasonous letter down the hall from the mad hatter queen. One of the cleverest men in the show is now dumb. All of a sudden one of his little birds makes an appearance just to ram home how good of a man he his. We know

He accepts his death with no explanation, and it seems like the dragon has ninja stealth because nobody could hear or see a 100ft mythical fire breather right behind her barnet.

She destroys the entire iron fleet with one dragon, dodging 100’s of arrows yet last week she totally forgot about them and they had better aim apparently. The entire fleet must have been on the lash the night before this battle because Eurons aim left him this week

Why was Jamie Lannister kept hostage, they would have off’d him immediately. In fact why was he going back. His entire character for god knows how long was to get from the grasp of his sister
Euron gets launched off a boat but magically appears at exactly the same spot that Jamie is finding the hidden stairway. All for the final Hollywood fight
Why didn’t Dany just destroy the Red Keep
Why was the hound and Arya just allowed to enter a city in lockdown after telling everyone of their intentions
why hasn’t bran told anyone that Dany is off her tits

Soooo much more to go in about as well

The only good things out the episode I thought:
Tyrion and Jamie’s interaction. Both great characters
Dany actually acted like a women possessed, even though I hated it had come to this she looked like a totally psycho
The hound and Arya interaction. I know people will disagree but I thought it was good that he warned her off vengeance to not be like him

Anyway it’s been ruined completely. The story has been dismantled for CGI to drag more people in and those to writer need to fired the pair of Disney writing hacks

Tactically this season has been dire. Yeah let's be scared of a few scorpions one episode, take a dragon down with 3 shots (assumedly blind shots too as otherwise Dany would have seen them)... Then next episode, yeah let's just take them all down with about 3 getting a shot off.

Ending... Tyrion executed, Jon kills Dany shortly after then dies also, Gendry rules with Ayra. And as someone said (but I said from the start), hope it ends with Jons eye opening blue.

So rushed though, all this build up for a rushed ending, sad to see.
The ballistas lack of effectiveness as opposed to the other episode is probably the biggest plot hole about. It’s like they turned into James Bond soldiers that can’t hit a barn for this episode. Yeah sorry buds. Shameful writing there.

Can we just give a quick round of applause to the completely pointless inclusion of Arya into this episode. Did nothing, saved no one & found an invincible horse.

Found her part in this episode baffling.

She went from midtable of the top tier characters to the very top in episode 3, killed the Night King, and then in this, just looked like a scared young girl doing her best to survive.
