Difficult to pick winners at that festival, but no where near as difficult Aintree.

I know, because for once its a meeting where you can guarantee all the jockeys actually trying. So the likes of McCoy might be worth backing if his ride is at longish odds. McCoy rides for the bookies, but in races like these where the Prize fund is huge, he has no choice but to go all out. He would have won 5,000 races if he had tried in every race.

Anyway my Cheltenham bets are:

Cant see past Cousin Vinny (NAP OF THE FESTIVAL) for the Supreme Novices (1.30 on Tuesday) @ 5/2

There's a horse in The Arkle (2.05 on the Tuesday) called I'msingingtheblues, its a Nicholls trained horse and has been on form this season and its got the pace to get up the hill. I'm having an e/w tinkle on that @ 9/1 for the name alone.

The Gold Cup itself (3.20 on Friday) is impossible to call, its all about how fit Denman is, but @ 7/1 its foolish not to have an e/w dabble on that.

Champion Hurdle (3.20 Tuesday) Binocular @ 6/4 under McCoy would be the obvious choice but theres potential for a shock and I reckon Osana @ 12/1 (e/w) is going to give the Favourite a run for its money. (I'm tempted to have a little dabble on last years winner Katchit even though its been ****e this season could do well @ 16/1).

On Wednesday in the Ballymore Novices Hurdle at 2.05 there's a superb horse trained by Willie Mullins, 3rd or 4th in the market at the moment around 5/1 with some bookies called http://www.racingpost.com/horses/horse_home.sd?horse_id=700801&race_id=473556&r_date=2009-03-11 Mikael D'Haguenet. (The horse is entered into a few races but I think this is the one it will go for. It may run in the Supreme Novices with Cousin Vinny, if so i'll stick with CV).

We'll know if thats true or not come friday

A rush of Blood saw me lump £50 on Cousin Vinny in the 1.30 on Tuesday odds 9/4 = return of £162.59 if all goes well..., absolutely ****ting myself now even though beforehand I was confident as anything, never put so much on a horse:huh:

Also got £5 on Lescott 1-0 @ 60/1 today

I really couldnt care less about that aslong as we get to wembley, If it finishes that way then its Wembley paid for

Seen some good tips on here. For example, Don't gamble, stick to a limit. Quit while your ahead when you do win coz winning streaks end as suddenly as they begin
haven't read through all the thread so this one might have been posted, there are no fool proof systems and never think you've got it sussed. One of the worst things is when you start off winning. It's like trying heroin and really enjoying it, whereas if it makes you sick you're less likely to try it again. Nothing against gambling on a moral level, but do Know it's one of the most if not the most addictive drug in the world. And addicts don't think they are addicted until it's a serious problem. I know this all sounds dead preachy but Use your head, have fun.

Got an accumulator on the 3.20 races for each day.

£10 on Binocular, Master Minded, Kasbah Bliss, Kauto Star - 20/1

I think its a while since all 4 favourites won their respective races but its great odds considering how well fancied they all are. Kauto might let me down

14:05 Golden Silver @ 16/1
14:40 Star De Mohaison @ 9/1

I lost £1800 that I put on Manchester United beating Sunderland in April 2006, they drew 0-0.

Acouple of months later I was betting on the world cup, I was about £400 up on the tornament so far when I lost my £400 winnings on the morning game.

So I put £550 on Italy beating the USA in the afternoon, they drew 0-0.

I havnt done a lot of betting since.

Golf bets for the WGC

50p e/w Robert Allenby @ 40/1
50p e/w Aaron Baddeley @ 60/1
50p e/e Steve Stricker @ 40/1

All performed well in Florida in the last few seasons and with Woods being back but not fully fit his presence has rocketed everyone elses odds.:)

Treble on tonights footy

£2 United, Barca & Blackburn = £15 return
