Player Valuation: £70m
I notice the previous thread is flashing like a realy flashy thing , but , raher than read the , I told you so's , rather I choose to elaborate on my initial point .

Firstly , hands are up . Last night , Saha provided a superb , ALL ROUND display of the requirements of being a Centre Forward at this level . Made up with hm .
However , once more , he didn't complete 90 mins , indeed , he's been here since Janary and he's yet to complete a full game .
Once more I reiterate , I do not , nor ever have , hated Saha , as some seem to think . Indeed , I witnessed him blast us out of the cup when at Fulham , played at Q.P.R. , and had rated him since .
My issue was , is , he can't stay fit for 3 days at a time . It is a fact . Therefore , my point about our forwards being my main priority this year was based on the fact of going to Man C , Villa , Spurs , even Fulham , not to mention the big boys , with Jo and Louis on one leg , which , I believed was just not gonna cut it .

So , in conclusion ; play at all for the rest of the season - week in , week out , the majority full games , I'd be contented .
Play like last night , for the rest of the season , we'd be in business . However , with hand on heart , how many could say you honestly fancy him to do so ???

Thing is , he was boss y'day . Let's see for the rest of the year . If he turns up like he did , you will not hear a peep from me . I have never booed an Everton player or the team . I want everyone to be a success .
I would love him to make it . Though I doubt his fitness . That's it in a nutshell .
I thank yo' .

It's common for managers to bring their key players off when the job is done , and though Saha has been injured in the past , I think it's simply precautionary and not a reflection of whether he could continue for 90 mins or not .

Blimey reminds me of me!

Sir, you are a legend and I hope Saha delivers and plays to his potential and promise, then we will ALL be happy (y)

i'd prefer moyes take the precaution, particularly when we have plenty of striking options / youngsters aching for experience.

tbh if we were skint of strikers, i'm sure louis would put in a full 90 and work hard till the whistle, but why take chances when we don't need to?

I think every player deserves a chance, just writing them off because they've had injury problems in the past isn't fair. Especially since the player being discussed has been fit since the Newcastle game last season and completed a full pre-season.

When he gets injured, fair enough, his reliability as a player can be questioned. Until them he deserves a chance.

As for not completing 90 minutes, it's up to Moyes how he wants to use Saha. If he wants to bring him off he can bring him off, when you've got four other strikers competing for one spot that's got to be expected.

If Vaughan and Jo aren't involved I doubt they'll be happy and there's nothing wrong with bringing something different into the game - in terms of style.

Saha could have easily completed 90 minutes yesterday in my opinion.

I don't think Jo and Saha would make a great partnership but if we do play Jo he best to play along Yakubu, he is best suited to play along a striker who has strength.

But I certainly fancy to see Saha and Yakubu play together, then the question is who do we play in the 4 man midfield.

When everyone is injure free, Arteta, Pienaar would always be two of them, but between Rodwell, Cahill, Fellaini & Neville who would you play in the middle?

I thought his hold up last night was very poor, its normally not bad. But he took his goals very well and its hard to fault somebody when they score 2 goals.

As TB says, hes been fit a while now, he will maybe pick up the odd knock and its how he comes back from them. Im not his biggest fan and hopefully his goal scoring record will make me eat my words.

Also, I have no doubt he could last 90minutes, but nearly every single lone striker is taken off at some point in a game. Its what you do.

I have to agree with ToxtethBlue, he could do 90 mins. But match after match would take their toll. But match after match we come closer to the return....of the Yak.

i think when that happens unfortunately its going to be hibbert making way for neville at right back, rodwell in CDM, pienaar out left for sure. beyond that, its tricky but i think what would work best is sort of a rotation system, we've seen cahill do a job on the wing, i wasn't aware he could cross like that till this season, so maybe have cahill arteta and pienaar switching off and overlapping between the wings and the centre, its much harder to follow marks when they're all over the place and our chemistry is getting to the point where we're ready to do it.

personally i would like to employ with everyone free, either:

Howard
neville lescott jags baines
fellaini rodwell
pienaar......................arteta
cahill
....yakubu

where fellaini and rodwell both play central defensive mid, its a defensive formation but it will really give baines and neville a lot of freedom to play up. alternatively, if we want to go for it a bit more, we could always work:

howard
neville lescott jags baines
rodwell
pienaar...arteta...fellaini (where the 3 rotate)
cahill yakubu

This.

Sahas been nothing short of excellent for us. For a striker who didnt have a long spell uninjured last season, he still came into games and everyone knew he could score from anywhere, with any foot at anytime. He is a winner.

He's been fit since the ending of the previous season and through pre-season till today. His goals to games in the last 10, including pre-season must be pretty fecking good at the moment.

Ledley King can't play 2 games in a week but Redknapp wouldnt do without him, i'd take an hour of Saha and 2 goals a game any day of the week.

When he's fit he's hard to play against, and he is fit at the mo, long may it last!!!

I think Saha's up there with Moyesies best buys.

Obviously he's still got a bit more to prove before he gets to the Cahill/Arteta/Jags stage, but c'mon, we barely paid a penny for him.

It was a risk at the time that no other clubs were willing to take, and Man U were more than happy to be rid of him. But how well has that paid off. He looks fully fit now, and knockin on wood here but I think this will be his season to absolutely shine!

I love the Yak but I think I'd play a fit Saha over him.. Nothing wrong with 2 up front mind you :)

I love Yakubu, he's always been one of my favourite players ever since he went to Pompey, but I agree with Skirge, fully fit I'd play Saha over Yakubu.

I am delighted to have to superb forwards on our books though, imagine them two together *drools*

30+ partnership = Top 4 Finish

I know Chico, I think we're a better team with 5, because we don't have the players to play a 4.

Pienaar--Cahill-Rodwell-Fellaini--Arteta

that is a frightening midfield that.
