Good luck Davey.

Earlier this season Armstrong was viewed as the last choice option behind all our other central midfielders and requiring a loan at Preston.

Now he’s apparently ahead of all our right hand side options including Dibling and George both of whom have played much more PL football than him.

Make it make sense, we were flipping a coin as to whether to send him back on loan to Preston and now he’s our starting right winger.

I suspect he is excellent at following Moyes instructions. The no.1 criteria for selection.

I had a feeling he would do something like this again when there is another game in 3 days. It is again overly defensive for me and we are not in a position where we have to play people in wrong positions. Patterson should be right back. Not because he is great but because he was decent and it is his natural position and it brings better balance. Likewise Branthwaite should be on from the start and Keane should be on the bench. If he wants to preserve his legs then give him 60 or 70 minutes or whatever.

Should always try and start with your strongest team imo and the bench would still be decent if we did.

I don’t mind the branthwaite thing, he’s been out a long time and I’m not sure expecting him to just come back and play 90 minutes every game is realistic. Agree with the other criticisms though, it does look like a pretty uninspiring line up on a couple of levels. We’ve been good away from home though so fingers crossed we can nick another one.

So it's once again back to shoehorning players in their less natural positions, in order to accommodate other players by the looks of it.

Have Patterson RB, Dibling/George wide just for starters even.
