I don’t know why everyone is in love with Broja, he had a worse goal return than both Maupay and Adams last season.

He was 19/20 over the season and looked very good in a poor Southampton team -- who apparently changed tactics to his detriment (i didnt watch much of them 2nd half of the season).

He's a good size, looks mentally strong and 'tough' and technically seems to have a good all round game.

If he hit 6 last season for Southampton at 19/20 perhaps with us he hits 8-10 this season and then continues to increase his output like DCL has done?

I think he's a bit under the radar on hype as hes not playing for England -- chose Albania.

Honestly never heard as much waffle as I did from Frank yesterday. Giving off serious David Brent vibes in not answering any questions directly.

“We are not looking at it as ‘Where can we go with this deal?’"

“It’s a serious situation on a football level and a club business level, simple as that. If you can join those two up and make the right decision"

I continue to think that not giving the opposition tactical information or bulletin board material, and avoiding giving his own players reason to be dissatisfied, is literally his job when he's in front of a firing squad like that one.

In general I agree that I would like to see the manager answer questions more directly, but when the room is as adversarial as that one was I have a hard time blaming him for turtling up on the ropes with his gloves up.

I will interperate it for you , we don't want to sell him but we have to in order to buy the players we need.

I’m not surprised his body language wasn’t great, he said straight away he wasn’t going to say anything about ins and outs and then got asked multiple times even after he kept dismissing the question.
Then what was up with that guy talking about Dele asking if Frank signed him and if he knew about his problems before he joined? What kind of answer was he expecting to get here whilst Frank’s a professional!? ‘Yeah mate I thought he’d be boss but then he rocked up and actually he’s a bell end so I messed that one up and we’re hoping to flog him to Turkey’
That's Alistair McGowan BBC again. Always goes for the snidey "angle" at these things. He thinks he's Andrew Neil.

Almost like it's a contractual obligation that he's trying to get through without disrupting preparation for the next match.

If you’ve watched the “Arsenal all or nothing” series - this is exactly it. Mikel is basically told what he can and can’t say by PR and Media Managers - be naive to think this wasn’t the same at every club, they very rarely appear to be from the heart these Pre-Match Press things.

Agree. Managers at the top of their game can potentially use them to influence refs for example. Fergie and to a degree Wenger used to. But we've all seen how that can backfire like with Benitez "facts".

Why on earth would you spend any of your limited time on this planet watching stage-managed football press conferences, never mind getting mad at them?

I'd be keen for you to point out any 'getting mad' evidence lol If anything it gave me a good giggle.

Dullard. Agenda.

Roy Keane, Steven Gerrard, Rudd Gullit etc etc were all very good midfielders but average / bad managers.

We need to realise that just because Frank was a class player doesn’t mean he’s a class manager.
Nobody, but nobody with an ounce of sense us saying that. Factor in the shambles that is our club and I think the signs are very encouraging. That's where we're at, no more no less.

Haha bore off ?

My brother just asked me what I think of Frank.

It’s impossible to judge him with this first team. The midfield and forwards he’s got available are just so so poor.

Can’t see who can create a chance or who’s going to score a goal.

He might be a poor manager, he might be good - impossible to tell. The best manager’s in the world wouldn’t have much chance with this bunch, what hope does Frank have?
