The problem is Frank is the worst of all of the guys we've sacked. Why is this the one where we hold on?
Yup, zero track record. Ancelotti and Benitez had CVs dripping in titles. Allardyce was the "Red Adair" of relegation battlers. Even Koeman - a far greater player than Lampard - had a few pots as a manager and a serviceable job at Southampton to point to. Frank is most similar to Silva - except Silva had climbed the managerial ladder based on his managerial record. Frank did it by name recognition and pure star power. So there is less than ever to hang on to when the results are tanking and we need to see reasons why Frank should be the one we persevere with.
I don't think he'll ever amount to a decent manager. Would I sack him? Not really. I'd give him time - after all, if I had appointed him I'd feel a debt of honour to support him when times are tough. But I didn't appoint him, wouldn't have, and don't believe in him. So if we could genuinely trade-up, like we did when we appointed Carlo, then I would move in a heartbeat. But we're not getting a Thomas Tuchel, and in most cases managers make no significant impact on a club's league position that couldn't be attributed to salary outlay. So, what's the point really?
