He needs to secure a baseline level of effort from the whole team in every game. We just haven't had that. And consequences for players that don't or won't live up to that.

Then with the DoF set to the task of overhauling the squad which will take several seasons. In footballing terms I've always asked for the same thing, visible improvement year on year and some clarity on what the objectives are.

It all depends on sound recruitment. Without that it's pointless. This will be a huge test for Lampard but it's Thelwell that should be left get on with it.

I still feel he's setting us up just to survive at the minute.

Look, I am skeptical as anyone about Frank, but this is precisely what he needs to do right now.

He is doing what he needs to do. He should be credited with that. We can worry about the future come survival, but he's getting enough from these wasters right now to preserve us in the top flight and his own employment. But that Watford game is a massive banana skin now. He has earned six points and a lot of kudos over the last week. Let's hope he doesn't squander the latter come Vicarage Road because now is the time to strike home our resurgence.
