I would say the reality is that the extreme majority (if not all), gave him a chance after the end of last season. It was a 'maybe' we can use this as a bounce. There was a lot of talk about stabilising the club, then being in a position to kick on with a better manager. There is nothing wrong with hope, but it wasn't to be. Generally the comments are that we don't have anything against the guy, as he had the sense to bring us back in the fold after being severely alienated under the previous management, he just isn't that good a football manager.
You supported Benitez till the end and STILL support him, nobody on here supports Lampard. Some wish him well but that is as far as it goes. I still don't get how anybody can go ahead and actually support Benitez, talk him up, talk about how you want him to get another big job, hope that he gets a big job. It is strange and beyond belief to have that strong a support for him.
Benitez was sending us down, there is no doubt about that, it makes your comment utterly laughable.

I dont "vault" as its Kopite behaviour but you'll find many posts that fall into worship category. Even some were comparing him to the start of the Great Howard Kendall's tenure it was embarassing to read mate. A cockney Tory 'ammers boy apparently being "one of us"

Was there a poll that I missed or are you just making up stats?
If and if Howard Kendall was brought into the mix then maybe it was the situation rather than the manager. However, it would be embarrassing, now looking back, if that was said. If I had personally said that I am a big enough person to say I was wrong, hopefully anybody who thought that would do the same.
Some can separate the politics from the man, and in this case, there was a broken fanbase, for whatever reason, rightly Lampard went for the fans. He brought us back into the mix as we becoming severely alienated from the club and the team. If he did anything to keep us up it was that, if his football management was better it would have been a lot safer (relegation threatened) and we would be safer now but it isn't the case.
How is a Spanish person better at 'getting us' than a Cockney. What has that got to do with anything?
TBF if you call other Blues stupid, you can expect to be lambasted and rightly so - works both ways - if i had a problem with people piling on and personally insulting someone - i cant turn around and say another insult in the other direction isn't as bad.
Be as mad as you like with opinion, but insulting people personally - you court your own trouble.
