he was one of my favourite non-Everton players.

i thought he was brilliant.

a barrel-chested footballing genius.

footballers are built like him anymore.

Good player wasn't he. The fight with Norman hunter was an amazing memory of football In the 70s
He was always a tough good competitor in my mind, similar to Peter Reid .

Weren't we lucky to have quite the exponent of 'finishing with the first shot Ferguson' - if only he'd have been as deadly when attacking the ball.

Had a feeling this would be posted. Hunter was a bit of a bully but got put in his place there. Franny was a great player and one of the reasons I'm a City fan. Blotted his copybook when he was chairman but he will always be a City legend. RIP Franny.

Seeing him smash the leeds cowards was one of the things I remember being repeated, I found it mad as when I was a really young kid I knew him as the man city chairman.
