Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

You’re wasted at Fylde mate, they’re some premier league lyrics right there.

Let’s hope it inspires the lads to smash Telford and show this minstermen who’s boss.

UTFC.

We'll see the PL mate don't you worry about that Jimi.

I had a dream where big dishes (like plates but well bigger) will be glued to the side of houses and caravans and aliens from outer space will be able to zap a signal to these dishes and we'll get to watch footy when we aren't even there.

I had a dream where something called "streams" will show the match live on our Commodore 64's and everyone's goes on about HD (I think they might mean HP sauce and there might be a battle in the future between HP and Heinz)

I had a dream where something called VAR was brought into the game but that was a nightmare and I woke up from it.

Ive seen the future Jimi

Its called FYLDE!!

AFC Telford were ona revival making them the most in form team in the league and are safe from relegation. Fylde will have their work cut out to get a result here today. Fylde kept the ball well, Croasdale and O'Neill exchanging passes nicely, Allaway dropped deep, received the ball and played it back to O'Neill who tried a shot from outside the box and it trickled in! Fylde off to a good start! Fylde were defending cautiously and taking their time in possesion, Croasdale gets the ball to O'Neill who plays it quickly out wide to Okoroji who is getting to the byline, he crosses in, Allaway wins the header! Fylde go two up! Allaway with his fifth of the season! Bryan Johnson now with the ball striding forward but he gets fouled by Davies. Fylde take the free-kick quickly and Byram receives it in space, he crosses to the far post for Henderson who slots to make it three! Stefan Payne played the ball into the path of Chris Wilson who took it round Foster to pull one back 5 minutes before half-time, a critical goal for Telford. Chris Wilson was looking for the second and giving the defence a rough time, he broke through on goal but Foster done well to close down the space and he put the shot wide. Telford finally turned the game on its head when Ash Tucker curled his free-kick round the wall giving Foster no chance. Game on with still time to play. Johnson went close with his shot over the bar which would have been relief for Fylde with fifteen minutes to play. Five minutes to go Ryan East lashes in the free-kick into the area, MacDonald goes up and heads against the bar! Telford won a corner with 90 seconds left of stoppage time, Davies gets it into the danger zone, Foster tips the ball over the bar! Davies again with the corner, the crowd are roaring, Mcgavin heads clear to O'Neill, he comes forward, long ball forward for Allaway to chase down, he beats the defender, the keeper comes out to clear the ball. Fylde just need to keep the ball for the remaining 30 seconds, the referee blows up, Fylde get over the line!

Dulwich Hamlet vs AFC Fylde

=DULWICH RESULT.webp

Ferguson was not giving anything away in his pre-match press conference but news surfaced this week that Tariq Lamptey is unhappy with the lack of football he is currently getting and is trying to rock the boat. Ferguson has kept it cool and wants his team to pull together at this critical time but sources close to the player suggest Lamptey has been creating unrest around the training ground this week which led to a Ferguson having a quiet word with Lamptey and trying to diffuse the situation. Sam Byram had been playing well and deservedly kept his place at right back. It was a frustrating first half for Fylde, Dulwich Hamlet were getting the better chances in the final third almost coming close to scoring from outside the box but Foster had it covered. All results were going against Fylde so they really needed to pull something out of the bag. Mick Wisdom crossed in from the corner with 8 minutes of the half left, Allaway rose for the header at the far post and the keeper done well to tip it over at close range. Fylde had the ball in the opposition half, Henderson came deep to receive the pass, played it to Ferguson who done brilliantly to shake off his marker and pass it to McGavin who had time to line up the shot and make it 1-0! Great goal for Brett McGavin! Fylde won possession back from Dulwich's long ball forward, Byram straight to Johnson who ran with the ball and crossed into the box, Allaway let it bounce before slotting it at pace into the bottom left corner! Fylde were looking to put this one to bed as soon as possible, whatever Ferguson said at half-time has certainly got these players fired up. The ball was played into Allaway who held it up inside the area with his back to goal but he was fouled inside the box, the referee gave the penalty. Euan Henderson wanted to take it, he took the ball from Allaway and placed it down, this goal will seal the win here for Fylde...Henderson with his hands on his hipped as he eyes the goalkeeper. Right foot....under the keepers arm! It's three for Fylde! As the game closed out McGavin had to go off with a thigh injury and was replaced by Tyrone O'Neill who went up top with Allaway. Croasdale was on in the midfiield with Wisdom. Fylde just had to see the game out for the final ten minutes. Henderson played it to Allaway, he played it to O'Neill who played it back, Allaway put it through for O'Neill who scored to make it four! No matter what happens now, Fylde have secured a play-off place! What a second half performance from The Coasters!

DF: A few stern words at half-time done the trick! I won't repeat what I said but it had the desired effect.
(On Tariq Lamptey) When Sam Byram is playing as well as he is, I'm not going to take him out of the team. I expect my players to be professional, keep themselves fit and ready to step in when required because we all know anything can happen at any time so Tariq should be keeping in top shape and ready when necessary.
It is bad news for Brett McGavin who will miss the rest of the season with a torn hamstring.

INJURY NEWS

With four league games to play, Fylde are two points clear at the top and Ferguson has demanded his team pull together as a unit and get the job done. This week in the lead up to the Newport County match at Mill Farm, Sam Byram has unfortunately suffered an abdominal injury which will mean he will miss the rest of the season and the loanee could have played his last game in a Fylde shirt. Sam Allaway will be unavailable for this weekends fixture due to a slight knee problem but Ferguson says he should be back in training next Monday.

The title race was hotting up and as it stands lies in the hands of AFC Fylde. The pressure must be mounting and Ferguson has kept his cool and ensured his players heads do not drop. We have seen countless years of heartbreak for Fylde but could this be the year it all changes? It was a nervous start for Fylde, Johnson and Wisdom both on bookings after 6 minutes with Ferguson furious at the referee for the early cards. Lamptey also received a booking early on which could be problematic throughout the match. Fylde rode early pressure from Newport who were dangerous down the right. Wisdom got it to Henderson, Henderson got the ball to O'Neill who had his back to goal, he held it up well turned and buried it into the bottom corner! Fylde seem a lot more relaxed now the goal has come. Neil Foster looked to be beaten but he puled off a great fingertip save to deny Newport on 28 minutes. Fylde were forced to take shots from outside the box with Newport keeping it tight defensively. Although they have the lead there is still an air of tension around Mill Farm. Euan Henderson signalled to the bench he could no longer carry on, he came off for Townsend. Not ideal for Fylde with this vital run-in. Twenty minutes to go, Lamptey crossed into the box, it fell to Johnson who struck it with his right foot and it hit the post. Fylde desperate for that second goal. Danny Smith and Ryan East entered the fray as Fylde looked to win all three points. Into stoppage time and Fylde were trying to see the game out. Newport were not going to give up and started to take shots from range hoping for a mistake. Neil Foster was playing brilliantly in goal and claimed every ball that came into his area. A god solid game for the keeper. Newport with a corner in the last minute, the ball is played into the box, Lamptey clears off the line! Feeney removes the danger. Seconds remaining and Newport are throwing everyone forward. The whistle is blown! Relief for Fylde but another three points!

DF: We didn't perform very well today. Foster was good and kept us in the game, I'm impressed with Lamptey as well, he made some vital interceptions. We looked shaky at times but rode the pressure. We got the goal which seemed to be enough but we needed another. We will approach each match calmly and not lose our heads. We need the fans now more than ever.

Shame about Byram, he's been a top loan signing.

Salford City vs AFC Fylde

Salford's well known threat was down both flanks and Fylde needed a plan to stop that. Mark Connolly came into the team as Feeney was struggling for fitness and he nearly headed Fylde in front. Atkinson has dangerous delivery and he crossed from his free-kick to Odoffin who headed Salford into the lead after 13 minutes. Foster was at fault for committing himself. You wuld think Salford were top of the league with their breathtaking first half performance and were making it hard for Fylde to get going. Fylde had a throw-in inside the Salford half, Okoroji picked up the second ball, played it into the centre for Croasdale who was in space, he tried a dipping shot and it went in! What a hit from Ryan Croasdale! Atkinson got forward with the ball towards the edge of the box, Okoroji tackled and it looked like Atkinson pulled down Okoroji, the Fylde players stopped, Palmer picked up the ball and put it in the back of the net, the referee indicated the goal stands! No foul given and Fylde completely switched off. Sam Allaway came on for Ferguson in the second half with a lot of work to be done. The second half ticked away and Salford were looking likely to take the points. Wisdom floated in the corner with five minutes to go, Henderson got up in front of the keeper and headed Fylde level! Tyrone O'Neill gort the bal with his back to goal, turned and hit a right footed shot towards the top corner but the keeper pulled off a magnificent save to keep the score level. It ended all square in Salford and Fylde drop a massive two points in the title race.
