Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

thanks mate, if there was a Father of the year award I'd like to think at least 2 of the 19 would vote for me and that's an average of over 50% and I don't think there's many dad's with such a good strike rate
I only have one so I envy your fertility to be honest.
She would vote for me for father of the yeat but when you add her to your 19 that only gives me 5% of the vote which puts me well behind your 50%. This has been the kick in the hole I needed to show me I have to do better, so for that I will be forever in your debt

Spread your love, spread your wealth that's my motto mate and it's what keeps me balanced...well that and the bannister.

Bury vs AFC Fylde
7th November 2026

=Bury result.webp

Bury were in a good run of form occupying 9th place in English League One. They gained promotion from the National League in 2020 and promoted from League Two in 2022 and came up against AFC Fylde for the first time in over 6 years. Just over three thousand were in attendance to see who would progress to the second round. Mick Wisdom came close to scoring for the away side when his free kick on 15 minutes just drifted wide of the post. Bury took the goal kick and got the ball into the final third quickly, Randall received the ball on the right and was under no real pressure to deliver the cross, Hartshorn won the header inside the six yard box bouncing over the diving hands of Tom Hadler to put Bury in front. Bury went into the break in front with no real concern. The first chance of the second half came for Fylde on 49 minutes when Wisdom whipped in a free-kick from the left hand side and Connolly rose above to head against the bar, very unlucky! Minutes later at the other end Tom Hadler made a great save onto the crossbar from the header from the corner to keep Fylde in the game. Henderson won the ball from Wisdom's flick on, Henderson played a diagonal for O'Neill to chase with thirteen minutes to go but he was pulled back by Steve Seddon who had already been booked! The referee had no choice but to brandish the second yellow card and send Seddon on his way. With ten minutes to go Fylde had the chance to take advantage of the 10 men of Bury, Hartshorn came forward for Bury and crossed into the box for Tom Lloyd who got in front of Feeney and Connolly to volley in the second. Both defenders not reacting to the cross and Bury surely must be out of sight. Bury were the much stronger side but it wasn't a bad performance for Fylde who had some chances to get back into the game.

DF: A cup run would have been nice and to get a pay day for the club at one of the bigger teams is always an aim for our club. It wasn't to be and we have to turn our attention back to the league campaign. It's important we put this hellish run behind us and bounce back. There were positives out there today and we have to take that forward in our next game against Telford.

AFC Fylde vs AFC Telford
13th November 2026

=Telford result.webp

The big news for Fylde was the return of Sam Byram who made the bench and Paul Townsend got the nod up top to lead the line. Fyle got the ball up the pitch early in the game, Ferguson finding McGavin in space on the outside of the box, McGavin lined up the shot and it cracked the bottom of the post! Aspinall in goal couldn't get hold of it and the ball rebounded off his back into the net, an unfortunate start for Telford but a welcome goal for Fylde. Fylde looked composed and held their shape well which Telford found hard to break down. Connolly moved the ball left for Okoroji on 55 minutes, Henderson received the pass and came forward, he tried to get the ball into the box but it bobbled loose off the defender, Townsend reacted quickly and got there first, he got the shot away on his left foot straight past the keeper into the net! Sam Byram came on to get some much needed minutes towards the end of the game. Okoroji came forward and hit a loss cross for Townsend inside the box but the defence cleared. Fylde playing nice football and moving the ball around the pitch quickly. Telford got into the Fylde half, Everall had the ball on the right, Henderson came in late with a tackle and took the man, there was no malice and Henderson held up his hands, he had already been booked and the referee showed the second yellow. Henderson is off. Ferguson took off Josh Ferguson and brought on Kyle MacDonald for a defensive option and managed to see the game out as 2-0 comfortable winners. A much needed win for Fylde.

AFC Fylde vs Dulwich Hamlet
21st November 2026

=DULWICH RESULT.webp

Morgan Feeney was reunited with two of his former team-mates Anthony Gordon and Matty Foulds who turned out for Dulwich Hamlet this afternoon. Gordon was in good form and would be key to a Dulwich Hamlet result. Phillips caught Fylde by surprise early on when they were hit against the run of play and powered his shot past Tom Hadler to take the lead. Fylde's slow build up play was impressive as they edged closer to the box, Sterling cut open the defence with a delightful ball into the feet of Townsend who belted a left footed shot into the bottom corner! Paul Townsend looked sharp and Ferguson found him inside the box again, he hit a thunderous shot against the bar and Dulwich cleared away. Anthony Gordon had been quiet first half and towards the end he came forward down the left, with no options he hit an audacious left footed shot on the outside of the boot but was merely frustrated as the ball sailed wide. One minute to go in the half and Wright-Phillips crossed low into the box from mid-way into the Dulwich half, a great ball in for Townsend to knock in past the keeper! Fylde in front on the stroke of half time. Dulwich had a corner early after the restart but it was cleared, Fergsuon picked it up outside the box and lauched the ball forward to Townsend who was up top on his own, he played the ball forward for the oncoming run of Wright-Phillips who got into the area, hit his shot, Matty Foulds followed it in and tried to clear but he put it into his own net. Anthony Gordon had a terrible time up against Morgan Feeney who was dominant in every aerial battle. De'Marlio Sterling played his first game of the season in place of the suspended Euan Henderson and put in an excellent display, the man of the match going to Paul Toewnsend who was devastating in front of goal.

Newport County vs AFC Fylde
24th November 2026

=Newport result.webp

Midfielder Ryan East got the first shot of the game after 30 seconds but it was comfortable for the keeper to get down to. With Josh Ferguson suspended, Tyrone O'Neill operated behind Paul Townsend trying to come deep to create chances for his team-mates. It wasn't clicking as well for Fylde in the first half and Hadler made some good saves to keep the scores level. Early in the second half Glover received the ball for Newport and had no challenge, he lined up the shot on the edge of the box and it went into the bottom left corner, Hadler with no chance of stopping it. Danny Smith came on the pitch for Wright-Phillips and made an instant impact, he played in Tyrone O'Neill whose shot rattled the bar, Smith was aware of the follow up and slotted to make it 1-1. Five minutes later, Hadler pumped the ball upfield, it cleared the back line and Townsend ran onto the ball, one on one with the keeper to give Fylde all three points but the keeper saved it and turned it away. East took the corner to the edge of the box for Henderson, Henderson lined up the shot on his right foot, thr ball deflected off Smith and went in, 2-1! The referee says 'no goal'! The Fylde players surrounded the referee in disbelief, the goal was ruled out. What a turning moment that could have been for Fylde.

DF: I've seen replays and there was nothing wrong with it! The ball was hit by Henderson which then deflected off Smith who was not in an offisde position! I confronted Joe Hull (referee) on the pitch after the game and he couldn't give me an explanation.

AFC Fylde vs Salford City
1st December 2026

=salford result.webp

Salford were a team backed and invested in to climb into the football league but it hasn't gone that way for them and find themselves floating around mid-table within the National League. Salford had an early corner but it was cleared away and picked up by Josh Ferguson who came forward, he saw Townsend ahead of him and got the ball over the top, Townsend played Ferguson back in who carried on his run, broke into the area and tried to lift it over the keeper but the keeper managed to get his body in the way and make the save. Fylde were playing good football throughout the first half but the goal was not forthcoming, Wisdom drifted the corner into the box, McGavin swung at it and the keeper saved at the post, Townsend followed in but it was cleared. Euan Henderson brought the ball forward into the opposing half, Ryan Atkinson came sliding in with a hefty challenge taking Henderson's legs from under him. The referee came over and gave Atkinson a straight red card for an awful challenge on Henderson. Salford down to ten and Fylde searching for that winning goal. A header over the bar from McGavin on 60 minutes from Okoroji's cross. Henderson came down the left, beat his man and crossed into the box but the ball was cleared to the edge of the box, McGavin tried the shot but it was blocked, it came to Wisdom who tried the shot, the ball deflected off Buchanan and went into the opposite corner, Fylde finally took the lead. Wisdom had the chance to double that lead with five minutes to go but the free-kick smashed against the crossbar. It was a dominant display from Fylde but Duncan Ferguson was looking frustrated on the line with so many chances not being put away.

AFC Fylde vs Torquay United
5th December 2026

=Torquay result.webp

Torquay were in the relegation places as we approached the mid-point of the season and their gameplan was seemingly to sit deep and absorb the pressure. Sam Byram was playing well and put a great cross into the box for Townsend who headed inches wide of the post. Ten minutes later Wisdom came forward in the space, played a long ball into the box, Josh Fergsuon got the shot away but it hit the bottom of the post. Torquay had a rare chance in the second half but Hadler saved from the close range header onto the post and Henderson got it clear for Ferguson to chase but the chance came to nothing. Time was running out for Fylde who needed to win to keep the pressure on the teams also in the hunt for promotion. With minutes to go, the full backs were pushing forward penning Torquay in their own half, Wisdom played the ball across the pitch for Byram, Byram got it forward into the centre for McGavin who was 25 yards out from goal, he turned and picked his corner to unleash the ball straight into the top right, 88 minutes on the clock and Fylde got the goal! Two minutes later McGavin had another chance, Smith crossed and his shot smacked the post. Torquay had one last throw of the dice when they won a free-kick 25 yards out, Bale pumped it into the box where the crowd of bodies fought to win the header. Hart won the header for Torquay but Hadler gratefully clutched the ball on the ground. Fylde left it late once again but got a deserved victory.

DF: The positives - we are creating chances, the negative - we aren't putting them away. No disrespect to any team in this league but I want to see us getting more goals and being more clinical.

Tranmere Rovers vs AFC Fylde
8th December 2026

=tranmere result.webp

The December fixtures were coming thick and fast and it was a tough away trip to Prenton Park to face Tranmere who have been performing very well in the National League this season. Ferguson came into this game cautious and aware of the threat Tranmere pose and it seemed to be going the way of the hosts when Burgess crossed into the box from the corner and Bret McGavin headed into his own net, a calamitous error from the in form midfielder. The rain lashed down in Birkenhead and it was looking like a difficult afternoon for Fylde. Fylde were looking to play the ball long for Townsend to chase and when McGavin hit a lovely ball over the top, Townsend was away from the last defender, got his shot away but the keeper made himself big and saved at close range. Tranmere came forward but gave the ball away, Connolly picking it up and Sam Byram launching another long ball forward for Townsend, he was in the clear again of the high back line, making no mistake with his left foot putting Fylde level! Seven minutes later Wright-Phillips crossed for Henderson who fired with his left foot but the keeper saved. Fylde looking a lot better in the second half, playing with more flair and creativity. Wisdom whipped in the free-kick to the back post, Feeney was above everyone and headed into the net, Fylde in front! The linesman flagged, Feeney went too early and he was offside. The right call by the official. Fylde played well, limiting Tranmere to any clear cut chances and came away from Prenton Park with a point which could have been three.

DF: Second half we took the game to them, went more attacking and the fluidity of our game paid off, we were unlucky not to be coming home with the points but getting a point away at Tranmere is a good result considering how good they've performed this season.

Sutton United have remained in good form so far this season and this could finally be the year they earn promotion to the football league. At the half way stage of the season the top 7 is tight and things can change quite easily. Fylde's magnificent start saw them win nine out of nine but have only picked up four wins over the last fourteen games. Despite the recent dip in form, they are still within contention of the National League title and will know from previous experience that consistency is key.

Such a telling statement. “Previous experience” as in landing in the playoff spots and failing to get out of this league. Setting up for another crushing disappointment when the boys and their almost man gaffer bottle it again.

Prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt for now, any more losing streaks and macca and his missus will be throwing faeces at the team bus again.

Too close to call at the top of the shop.

Could go top or we could miss out.

The one thing that’s guaranteed is macca will be covered in faeces either way.

Squeaky bum time for all involved.
The big 7 running away with it again. Too much money sloshing around in the league for the big boys to allow the minnows to get involved up at the top. It might suit the mighty Fylde but I dream of an egalitarian league full of locals. Can you imagine if the MacCavennie boys were playing and not these mercenaries only here for a big pay day? We'd see passion on the pitch then. And in the stands.

Don't want to say too much as I don't want to get on the wrong side of maccavennie, but from what I heard theres a few of the maccavennie boys won't be available for selection for a while following his release party in the frog and spawn the night he got out. I popped in early had a quick one with him and left but seemingly it got a bit messy there after. Your man Kieren who looks after security there was still running two days later by all accounts. No idea what started it tbh but I did notice Van Damme seemed to be taking a shine to brassy Brenda
