Its that good a news I've taken the day off work mate.

Bolton fitted us like a pair of pants that were once like tailored flairs but now look like a pair of tight poundstetcher leggings.

Me and the lads were gonna have a whip round for you as well as we knew your heart wasn't in Bolton and updating that shower of crap every week would have demoralised even the most staunch of fans.

They say you should never go back and I think it was a heart over head situation. It could all go wrong again but success with Fylde could propel Ferguson into top flight management.

Everton are doing very well, around the top 4 of the Premiership, F.A. Cup holders and have just been knocked out of the League Cup semi-final by Man Utd. That job is a very long way off for Ferguson to even get close to. Maybe building something with Bolton could have been epic.

Onto the next chapter in his managerial career.

Fylde is a golden era Hollywood starlet with the world at her feet. Bolton is a rough Instagram model with orange skin and a face like a baboons ar$e. No wonder he came back. Our Fergie is a romantic dreamer like all us Fyldeans.

A massive occasion at Mill Farm saw the return of manager Duncan Ferguson! The sold-out stadium was loud and making noise twenty minutrs prior to kick-off and when Ferguson emerged five minutes before kick-off to be greeted by the fans his name rung around the stadium with the stands completely shaking. The atmosphere would have driven Duncan's team talk with players who have not played under Ferguson understanding what it is like to work under the Fylde hero. The teams came out and thr Fylde players had their heads held high. The game started and Fylde came close within the first few minutes. Oliver Sarkic's shot narrowly missing the post. It didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken and winger Wright-Phillips blasted one in low and hard giving the Maidstone keeper absolutely no chance. The momentum carried on and with a Wright-Phillips drive forward before crossing for Tyrone O'Neill who volleyed into the roof of the net. 2-0 and Fylde looking excellent! Two minutes later Morgan Feeney put in a great tackle on Marcus Barnes in the box but the linesman flagged for a penalty. The whole ground could not believe it as the officials made the wrong decision. Karma came back around and Griffiths guessed right parrying the ball to safety from the spot kick! Fylde kept control in the second half and Wright-Phillips was a constant threat for the Maidstone back line. His second half shot narrowly going over the cross bar. An all round top quality performance with good atacking intent delivered a massive three points for Ferguson and Fylde. A dream start for all.

DF: The lads were class today, the fans were class today. I couldn't have asked any more of them. We defended well, I thought Croasdale was solid in front of the defence and Morgan has matured into a quality centre half. This is the start we want and we have to keep going. It's great to be back here and seeing a performance like that proves why this club should be performing higher up the table than they currently are.

FYLDE SHOW PROMISE

It was a trip to the North East on a cold 3rd February. Fylde on the back of a home win over Maidstone took the game straight to Gateshead picking up from their last performance. The dynamics changed on 15 minutes when Lamptey jumped for the header but was adjudged to have fouled Barry Pearson in the box, the referee pointed to the spot which was a dubious call. Sam Matthews tucked away the penalty neatly to give Gateshead advantage. Left back Garrett got forward and provided a cross for winger Wright-Phillips to volley home at the far post. The Coasters were back in the game but Matthews scored a laser like drive into the bottom corner 5 minutes later to go in at the break with Gateshead leading. Wright-Phillips was looking for his second on the hour mark and ran at the Gateshead backline who were backing off but his dipping shot landed on the roof of the net. Pearson took possession of the ball and drove forward into the box trying to give Gateshead a 2 goal cushion, the tackle came in from Feeney and the defender won the ball however the referee pointed to the spot to give Gateshead a second penalty. Ferguson and his team were furious at the decision. Clearly the wrong one and Matthews secured his hat-trick with the low finish into the bottom left. Fylde went more attacking and won the ball back in their own half, McCann lobbing the ball forward to Sarkic who was in the centre circle knocked it out wide to Wright-Phillips, first time he hit a through ball for second half sub Richie Ginnelly who slotted hard and low into the corner. 3-2 and back in with a chance. As we went into stoppage time, Gateshead were trying to slow the game down but a great sliding tackle from Lamptey got the ball to Mccann who was instrumental in the build-up, playing a one-two with Henderson before putting it into the path of Ryan Croasdale who hit an optimistic shot which happened to have the beating of keeper Irish. 3-3! With virtally seconds left, Gateshead tried to get the ball forward from the kick off but as the clearance was made the referee brought a classic to an end. What a result for The Coasters!​

Oliver Sarkic picked up a mid-week injury to the thigh and Ferguson opted to rest the striker. O'Neill went up top and Euan Henderson started on the left wing. There was also a debut for on-loan midfielder Ashley Hammond who joined from Bolton on deadline day along with full back Ian Patterson. Ferguson bringing in two of his former players from Bolton until the end of the season. Henderson opened the scoring for Fylde on 4 minutes with a left footed free kick that Joe Fryer could only palm into his own net. McCann played a ball for debutant Hammond who blasted a 25 yard effort straight past Fryer who had no chance. 2-0 to The Coasters on the stroke of half-time. York City had no intenton of lying down at this point and grabbed one back in the second half, Parkes getting in front of the Fylde defence to knock in a cross at the near post. Porsteinsson scored a magnificent goal 12 minutes later to equalise for York City and put them right back in the game. Euan Henderson's shot cannoned back off the bar and O'Neill pounced on the rebound to put Fylde back into the lead with four minutes to play plus stoppage time. York searched out the equaliser and Fylde defended well enough to keep them out. A last minute corner was clutched on gratefully by Griffiths who took to the turf to the cheers from the following support. A fantastic away victory for Fylde.

7 points from 3 games for Ferguson and Fylde put them 15th in the National League Table.
