Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

You're thinking of Sandy Quy the physio. He'll be out in 6 months. Ward is thinking about getting him on day release from HMP Fylde until then as he'll be cheap.

Andy Quy is the one who got caught exposing himself in the Asda after going on a day long bender.
Thinking about it maybe the bloke I had in mind was that Mitchell quy , got him and our sandy confused . Sandy is a good quy so my bad .

Didn’t know he was out , rehabilitation in action ? This is that bloke from Southport who killed his missus right ?

We’re a broad church

We surely are. We must have most ex offender/day release/on parole/community service/rehabilitated/current assisting the police with their investigation players in the history of the league.

Another first for Fylde was when we had to extend the trophy cabinet to display all the ex players commemorative ankle bracelets, I believe Danny Rowes ‘pardon’ from the Dalai Lama is in there as well.

What a proud and historic club.

Ironically the biggest crook at the club is the only one whose not been inside.

WARD OUT! Or at least stick him inside.

FYLDE SIGN JOE DONNELLY
Joe Donnelly.webp

Joe Donnelly joins the club from Hamilton where he is a regular first team player for the Scottish Championship club. So far this season he has made 12 appearances and scored 2 goals. Duncan Ferguson was keen to bring in a player to follow in the foot steps of club legend Euan Henderson who is now 31 but still as good as ever. "Joe is a Hamilton lad and from our early discussions he looks up to Euan as a prime example of what a left winger is. I want Joe to learn from Euan and fulfil his potential at Fylde. We're delighted to have Joe join us in the January window."

I don't know how Sarah Carr performed the medical, but really positive after she said that, "Big Joe will fit right in here - absolutely massive with unlimited stamina. I predict his relentless pounding from box to box and ability to spray his final release with unerring accuracy will make him a harpooner legend- he's already took my breath away!"

Sounds like he was born to be a coaster.

Bradford City vs AFC Fylde
4th October 2031

=Bradford result.webp

If the same Fylde turn up as last week then this can only end one way. The dismantling of Fleetwood Town would have given this team confidence to keep the run going. Christian Hutson earned a start playing behind O'Neill with Josh Ferguson dropping to the bench. Fylde started well and were getting into great positions in the Bradford area and the keeper was pulling off great saves to deny The Coasters early on. Hutson was playing well in the centre and linking play up for the wide players to get good balls into the box. Bradford managed to get the ball forward, the loose ball bounced off Morton and Sherif took it under control and buried it into the net leaving Dube with no chance, 1-0 to Bradford. Bytheway lofted the ball towards the area for O'Neill who took it wide, he crossed first time and Henderson could only find the side netting with the header. Fylde have to turn this around in the second half, the goal left them deflated. Two minutes into the second half, Henderson played a nice cutting pass through the Bradford back line and Bytheway slotted it into the bottom corner! 1-1! With 15 minutes to go, Jack Quinn replaced Tyrone O'Neill. Bradford managed to hang on for a point and will be the happier out of the two teams.

DF: We played well and created enough chances, it just didn't go our way. It's still a point away from home and keeps us moving in the right direction.

AFC Fylde vs AFC Telford
Checkatrade Trophy
7th October 2031

=Telford result.webp

Mid-table League Two side AFC Telford travelled to Fylde for the second group match of the Checkatrade Trophy. Some players were given a rest with Sean Jones and Victor Oto'o operating on the flanks with support from Greg Taylor and Steve Stockbridge, Declan Marshall played behind Tyrone O'Neill. The two sides have met 9 times the last time being 2027 when Sam Allaway and Tyrone O'Neill helped The Coasters to a 3-2 win. Marshall got the ball wide to Stockbridge on the right and he crossed into the box to Tyrone O'Neill who headed against the bar. Ten minutes before half time, Marshall played it inside to Sean Jones and the 17 year old advanced on the defence trying his luck outside the box but his shot went just over. It was growingly frustrating for Fylde as the match went on and Telford were happy to absorb the pressure. Fylde won a free kick and Sean Jones struck the post with a great effort, Tyurone O'Neill pounced on the rebound and made no mistake making it 1-0! Lee Lofthouse was given a rare appearance coming on for O'Neill with 20 minutes to go. Sean Jones carelessly gave the ball away to Foden with 30 seconds left, he played it to Harrington-Wright but he was forced back to Sebastian who pumped it lomg in the box but Stockbridge headed clear. It is a win for Fylde but it wasn't convincing. Fylde need to get something from the Bolton match in order to progress and hope Telford drop points against Liverpool U23's.

AFC Fylde vs Burton Albion
18th Oxctober 2031

=Burton result.webp

It was back to Mill Farm for the visit of struggling Burton Albion. Patrick Uttridge was suspended and Ellis McKimm-Forster was recovering from a quadricep injury. Brett McGavin started alongside Jordan Wilson. Fylde had the chance to take the lead after 9 minutes when Vince Bytheway was impeded on the ball in the box and Euan Henderson put the ball down on the spot to take the penalty. Henderson sent the keeper the wrong way tucking it into the bottom right corner and getting his 8th goal of the season. Fylde were in great form and Morton crossed into the box on 11 minutes, it was cleaered away and Bytheway took the loose ball and toe poked it over the line beating the keeper to make it 2-0! Fylde were still pushing for goals and three minutes into the second half John Jones crossed into the box and Christian Hutson got it under control and hit one sweetly with his left foot but the keeper palmed it away. Henderson took the corner on 53 minutes but Brown cleared, Hutson was in the right place and buried it into the back of the net to get his 3rd of the season! Henderson was brought off with just under 30 minutes to go and was replaced by Renaldo Downey. Fylde's clean sheet went out of ther window on 90 minutes when Patten volleyed home Hamm's ball forward leaving Dube rooted to the spot. The match came to a close and it's a convincing win for Fylde!

DF: We looked good and we played really good football. The attacking movement was pleasing and we defended brilliantly too, the late goal was a lapse in concentration but we done very well to get the three points and we gave the fans something to cheer about.

AFC Fylde vs Bolton Wanderers
21st October 2031

=Bolton result.webp

Patrick Uttridge returned from suspension for the mid-week visit of Boton Wanderers. Christian Hutson was in good form and kept his place in the team ahead of regular starter Josh Ferguson. A win for Fylde could see them top the table. Bytheway won the ball back on 3 minutes and played it long to Tyrone O'Neill who held it up and fed it to Henderson, Henderson played it back to Jones and he crossed for Bytheway to try a volley at goal but the keeper pushed it away. Jordan Wilson looked dangerous every time he got the ball and came close to scoring with a shot that sailed just wide of the post. Fylde played well in the first half, keeping possession in the Bolton half but were limited to shots from range. If they keep working hard and exploiting the flanks they can eventually get the lead. Fylde won the ball back always closing down the space and getting on the end of loose balls, they were quick at getting it forward but just not clinical enough in front of goal. It wasn't clicking for Fylde so O'Neill and Hutson were replaced by Ferguson and Quinn. A 0-0 draw was played out and either side really did enough to get the win today. A good defensive performance from Bolton earned them a point.

Wrexham vs AFC Fylde
25th October 2031

=Wrexham resut.webp

Newly promoted Wrexham were bottom of the League One table but the Welsh side were four games unbeaten going into this match. Wrexham and Fylde enjoyed a fierce rivalry over the years, most notably the National League Play-off final in 2026 which Wrexham won 1-0. Wrexham started brightly almost going 1-0 up but James Burgess strayed offside. Vince Bytheway got onto the clearance from the defence and whipped it to the far post beautifully and Henderson came in to knock it in to make it 1-0! Brilliant finish on 20 minutes! Three minutes later Wilson knocked it Uttridge and her played a great ball wide left to Jones who crossed to the far post and Bytheway headed past the keeper! 2-0! Great football from Fylde! John Jones took the free-kick on the right side crossing into the box and Bytheway headed in his second! What a header! John Jones was in exceptional form. Wrexham still had their say in this one and Mendes Gomes got to the ball on the left unchallenged and played it into the box for Burgess to power it past Dube to claw one back with 20 minutes to go. Greg Taylor came on for John Jones who had a brilliant game to shore up the defence with his experience. The match ended and it's a good away win for Fylde who keep the pressure on Wigan and Swindon at the top.

Ebbsfleet vs AFC Fylde
1st November 2031

=Ebbsfleet result.webp

Vince Bytheway win the October player of the month after scoring 4 goals in 4 appearances. Stockbridge got a start at right back with Morton recovering from a minor training injury. Fylde were pressing well and playing at a high tempo not allowing Ebbsfleet any space. Henderson took down John Jones' cross inside the box but was clattered by Colin Barton, the referee awarded the penalty and Henderson had the chance to make it 1-0. Henderson sends the keeper the wrong way with a cool finish, 1-0! Josh Ferguson tackled Benson who dallied at the back, got forward into the box and squared it for O'Neill to make it 2-0! Brilliant from The Coasters making Ebbsfleet pay. Ebbslfeet caught Fylde napping on 58 minutes, Lawrence delivered a good ball into the box and Dalby looped the header past Dube. Five minutes to go and Fylde were playing with more caution, slowing the game down. Josh Ferguson had a great effort denied at the post when he rifled in a shot outside the box. Fylde saw the game out and took the three points which puts them top of League One!

DF: We've got some really good results and another good away win here. The hard work is beginning to pay off, it's too early to talk about promotion but we will do all we can to make sure our name is mentioned when the time is right.
