Josh Ferguson pulled up with a calf injury on 36 minutes and Declan Marshall replaced him. John Jones put a great ball into the box for Marshall but his shot was deflected wide. It was a good first half for Fylde but they have to be cautious of the threat imposed by Swindon. Barry Sargent almost came close to scoring against his former club beating the back line but Dube got across to punch the shot wide. Jimmy Dube pulled off another great save on 80 minutes from the free-kick 20 yards out, the shot looked destined for the net. Mark Morton managed to get the ball clear. Fylde had an additional two minutes to see out. Dele-Bashiru sent the ball long for Ward to chase into the area, Dube stayed on his line, but it was Sam Gibson who got back to block the cross. Powell took the corner aimed towards Sargent but Gibson headed clear. Dele-Bashiru got it wide to Powell who played it to Herd and Wilson got it to tackle and Morton carried it forward. The game ended and Fylde get the win over Swindon to advance to the F.A. Cup Second Round!

DF: It was a hard fought win and to get it against a good Swindon team is fantastic. We are pleased to still be in the competition and our league form is consistent.

Fylde will need to get a result today against Bolton and see Telford lose to progress past the group stage. Ferguson named a strong team with Euan Henderson and Victor Oto'o on both flanks. Tyrone O'Neill kept his place up top. Bolton came out the blocks firing and Dube made a great save from Obafemi after 53 seconds. Fylde could not get out of their own half and Bolton were playing with a quick tempo, the ball was played in to feet for Okoro from Carragher and he belted it past Dube to make it 1-0. It wasn't long until Fylde responded and Victor Oto'o played a good ball for Euan Henderson who got into the area to make it 1-1 with a sweet left footed shot! Jarman crossed into the box but it was headed away by Kenny McPherson, it fell to Abadaki for a volley into the bottom corner, 2-1 to Bolton. Nobody closed down the shot. Fylde were being torn apart, Okoro got the ball on the left and crossed into the box and Obafemi met it with a powering header to make it 3-1 before half-time. Ferguson made changes bringing on Jack Quinn for O'Neill and Marshall for Hutson. Uttridge took the corner on 65 minutes, Oto'o took it down inside the six yard box and buried it to make it 3-2! Fylde back in with a chance. Unfortunately they were not good enough tonight to get another goal and they crash out of the Checkatrade Trophy finishing bottom of the group with Liverpool UI23's and AFC Telford advancing.

Duncan, another missed opportunity to give this club the chance of silverware and seeing their team perform at Wembley, why do you think you perform so badly in this competition?

DF: Each season we approach this cup with every intention of winning it but it is a competitive competition and I use the squad available to me in these games, the fixture list becomes congested and I have to make decisions to rest first team players. We have underperformed and I wanted us to have a great go at this but Bolton were head and shoulders above us today and we rightfully lost.
