Rotherham United vs AFC Fylde

Steven Stockbridge and Declan Marhsall got starts in Rotherham as Fylde looked to continue their run of good form. Brett McGavin came in for the injured Jordan Wilson. Fylde were all over Rotherham in the opening 12 minutes and Henderson almost got the first but the keeper done well to push his effort wide. The attacking football paid off when Fylde moved the ball quickly, Jones took it on the left and worked his way into the box, he crossed to the back post and Bytheway nodded it down to make it 1-0! O'Neill took the ball down and ran forward, instead of taking the shot he played it left to Henderson who had his shot saved at the near post. Fylde started the second half with the same energy we seen in the first, Stockbridge got forward and crossed into the box and John Jones headed just over the bar. Jones was on the receiving end of a bad tackle and had to leave the field with just over ten minutes to go. Rotherham were going for the equaliser in the final minutes of the match. Alan O'Neill headed clear from O'Loughlin's cross, Williams took it down and played it to Molyneux, Embid got in and won the ball back, played it upfield to Tyrone O'Neill. News came in that Barnet had taken the lead against league leaders Preston which puts Fylde top of the table by a point. Molyneux was through on goal but McGavin put in a last ditch tackle, the Rotherham players appealed to the referee for a penalty and he ruled it out. Fylde put in an excellent performance in defence and earned a good away win which sees them go top of the table!

DF: We gave the ball away too easily, our passing in the second half was sloppy but we did defend well. On another day that could have been 1-1 but I think we showed our tenacity to win it. John Jones' injury looks a bad one and we will be without him for a few weeks.

Burnley vs AFC Fylde
F.A Cup Fourth Round

Fylde have a chance to come away from Turf Moor and reach the fifth round for the first time in their history. Thiago Motta's side will be hoping to progress and show their intent in this years competition. Fylde's Morton took the throw on 30 minutes, McGavin looked up to make the pass, and played it to Embid in the centre of the park, he passed to Josh Ferguson and Ferguson quickly moved it left to Okoroji who was on the edge of the box, he squared it for Henderson inside the area and he shot just wide of the post. Both teams were difficult to break down and Fylde were doing well against the Premier Division side. Burnley were quick getting the ball forward and caught Fylde on the counter, Brian Wheatley used his pace to take it past Okoroji and he crossed low for Sunday Lawai to smash in his 5th of the season. Morgan Feeney picked up a knock and Sam Gibson came on for him just before half-time. Brett McGavin dispossessed Joe Willock and ran forward with the ball, Josh Ferguson received the pass and played it to Henderson who had a go with his left foot and the keeper pushed it away. Bytheway almost levelled for Fylde in the 60th minute but hit the side netting from 20 yards out. Henderson intercepted the throw-in and took the ball into the box forcing a great save from the keeper to keep it out. Bytheway crossed to the back post with 7 minutes to go and Henderson has his header saved. Dani was doing brilliant for Burnley in goal keeping out Henderson. A minute to go, Morton pushed down the right and played it on to the edge of the box to Declan Marshall who tried it on the edge of the box but it rolled straight into the arms of the keeper. Burnley held on for the win and progressed to the fifth round. It was unlucky for Fylde who played well and almost got something out of the tie.

AFC Fylde vs Cambridge United

Fylde were missing key players through injury and Morgan Feeney was the latest name on that list along with Jordan Wilson and John Jones. Andrew Jolley was returning to training but was not yet match fit. Okoroji took the ball on the left, he played it right to Morton and Morton put it into the 6 yard box for Tyrone O'Neill to volley into the back of the net! Great start for The Coasters! Lyons played the free-kick to Kirby, Embid tried to close him down but he got it across the pitch to Lees who got the bal on his right foot and curled it into the bottom to corner, 1-1. Chima Okoroji lost his head four minutes into the second half and after a bad challenge he received his second yellow card and was off. Fylde kept coming forward despite being reduced to ten men, McGavin won the bal back in the middle and sent the ball forward for Tyrone O'Neill, he beat the defender and aimed for the top corner but the keeper pulled off a great save. Henderson took the corner, Holmes punched it away and Sam Gibson picked it up on the edge of the box, the fans urged him to shoot and on his left foot he hit it low and it rolled into the bottom corner! His first goal for Fylde! Steven Stockbridge came on for Josh Ferguson and filled in at left back. Brennan Johnson got the ball forward for Street and he was in the clear, one on one with Foster and he slotted to equalise with 20 minutes to go. Bytheway played a splitting pass into the box and Henderson hit it first time but it was saved. With only stoppage time left, Fylde searched for the winner and had a golden chance when Victor Oto'o crossed for Tyrone O'Neill and he put the shot wide from close range, he should have hit the target. It's a 2-2 draw at Mill Farm and Fylde miss out on going back to the top of the table.

DF: It's disappointing to see Chima getting himself sent off, it leaves us short at left back now and we have a few injuries in the squad which doesn't give us room to rotate for the upcoming matches. We just have to keep digging to get results but I'm disappoined we couldn't get the three points today.

Duncan, with the transfer window closing in a few days are you looking to bring any players in?

DF: We are close to striking a deal for Ander Nunez at Nice but we are waiting on a decision for a work
permit. I'm not the type of manager to rush a signing through the door, I only bring players in who we have been looking at for some time and can understand how they will fit in with the team. Ander is a very good footballer who was around the Athletio Madrid team for many seasons, it will be a great signing for us if he came.

Jimmy Dube has left Birmingham City in The Championship and has signed for AFC Fylde on transfer deadline day.

DF: Jimmy has Championship experience and is also a title winner when he won the League One title last season. It's an honour to have him at the club and hopefully we can register him in time for tomorrow's match against Port Vale.
Can have plenty of songs lined up for Jimmy Dube.

Word on the shop floor is Jimmy Dubè is partial to a cheeky doobie.
