More passion, more tackle!‘More tackle, less tackle’
MORE!?! My poor heartMore passion, more tackle!
Ferguson had to rotate a few players due to fatigue
here had been a glum feel around Fylde lately with supporters feeling pessimistic about the future
The footballing flair that wowed the fans seemed to be a distant memory
Sam Allaway was signed as the striker to help them fight for survival this season but he was ineligible for the cup match against Fylde.
At least 10 to 15 per cent more after he lost his gut once Ferguson stopped him going for a second pasty and pint during training. As big Dunc always says, 1 pasty, a bag of crisps and a pint with a crafty short is the right amount for an elite athlete in a serious training programme.MORE!?! My poor heart

If only we hadn't dropped so many silly points.MK Dons vs AFC Fylde
7th December 2030
Fourth against fifth in this battle for promotion. Euan Henderson was on the bench after just recovering from a slight thigh injury so Adrian Pirone played on the left with Josh Maja keeping his place in attack. Fylde started poorly and after 13 minutes found themselves trailing when Rodney's shot found its way past Foster which he should have done better with. MK Dons had Fylde sitting deep and but done well to keep the score at 1-0. Maja held the ball up well just before half-time and played in Pirone inside the box and the keeper done well to tip the shot behind the post. Fylde showed their supporters some encouraging football in the opening minutes of the second half, keeping the bal in and around the penalty area. Morton played it forward to Bytheway who dribbled forward through the middle and played the pass into Maja but Gibbs got in a great tackle to stop the shot. Euan Henderson was on for Pirone for the last 30 minutes. It was all Fylde in the second half, Declan Marshall and Tyrone O'Neill were on for Fylde in the hope of getting something from this. Marshall lined up Wilson who had his shot charged down with only a few minutes to play. Henderson picked it up in the MK Dons half, brought it forward and sent a low ball over to the right for Bytheway who skipped past the full back, got it on his left foot and buried it low past the keeper! 1-1! There was a minute to play of the 5 added on, Henderson lost possession and Robinson came down the Fylde left, he played it to Rodney and he knocked it on to Dreher who fizzed a shot past Foster to make it 2-1 to MK Dons. Poor goalkeeping costing Fylde again.
DF: We need to be doing better than this in the last minutes of the match. MK Dons stole it at the end but we simply let them. Was we too attacking? Well I was here to win the match and not settle for anything less.

F.A. Cup Second Round Replay
The third round awaits for the winner and Fylde will be hoping to progress further in this year's competition. Tyrone O'Neill was back in the starting eleven along with Declan Marhall and Andrew Jolley who were given rare starts. Henderson and Marshall both linked up well down the left and Bytheway got on the end of Henderson's cross but it was just inches wide. Five minutes in and Lee Alen set up Dale Twose who hit a rocket of a shot that fired into the bottom right corner, what a strike. 1-0 to Salford. Salford were giving Fylde the runaround and on 20 minutes Taylor crossed from the free-kick and Allen beat his man to head past Foster and make it 2-0. Salford looking good for their lead and Fylde look completely lost. Daniel Embid had the best chance for Fylde on 29 minutes when he struck the bottom of the post from the free-kick. Josh Maja came on for Jordan Wilson with Fylde playing one central midfielder. It wasn't Fylde's day and Maja struck the post from the free-kick with less than 20 minutes to go. Morton got the ball out wide on the right, put a nice ball into the six yard box and Tyrone O'Neill pulled a goal back for Fylde. 16 minutes left to play. Josh Ferguson was playing deeper in midfield, he played it to Okoroji in space on the left and Henderson took the ball further afield. He played it back to Okoroji to cross and Tyrone O'Neill's shot was deflected behind for a corner. Ferguson took the corner but Tyrone O'Neill's header was into the hands of the keeper. Declan Marshall played the ball wide to Bytheway, Henderson got the header from the cross but it was saved by Lamb. Five minutes to go and Fylde won the free-kick in a dangerous area 20 yards out, Maja fancied his chances and hit the shot on his right foot curling it around the wall, the keeper got a hand to it but couldn't stop it going in! 2-2! Four minutes remaining to find a winner. This match ended at 90 minutes and extra time ensued. Three minutes into extra time, Okoroji took the free kick and Alan O'Neill got up above his man to power the header into the back of the net! 3-2 to The Coasters! Mick Wisdom was on for Declan Marshall who was running on empty. Seconds remained in extra-time, Lills took the ball on the left wing for Salford, Allen fouled Jolley in the box and a free-kick was awarded to Fylde. It's all over at Mill Farm but Fylde gave their supporters a scare by going two goals down in the first half.

AFC Fylde vs Aldershot
14th December 2030
Six points separated Fylde and the top of the league. A win would be vital in their fight for promotion considering how tight the play-off places were going into this match. Alan O'Neill and Vince Bytheway missed this one due to beign rested after playing extra-time mid-week. It was a subdued performance from both teams in the first half, the best chance coming for Tyrone O'Neill when he try to turn in Jones' low cross into the box. Bytheway came on for Fylde in the last twenty minutes in a match were both teams were trying to work each other out. Jolley played it to Jones and he pumped the ball forward over the defence and O'Neill was onside, he tried to take it round the keeper but he got his hands to it and knocked it away from the striker. Stockbridge hits a diagonal ball towards the corner and Pirone gets there, he crosses into the box and O'Neil heads in to make it 1-0! Six minutes to go and could this be the winning goal? Josh Maja was just about to come on but he has been told to sit back down. Aldershot come forward with a minute of normal time to play, Sunderland is dispossessed by Morgan Feeney and he plays it forward for Tyrone O'Neill who is looking like his former self, he slows the play down and plays it back to Jones. Wisdom takes it and sprays it right to Bytheway, he gets forward and wins the corner from the deflected shot. Fylde kept the ball nicely in stoppage time and the win sends them into the top three!

Luton Town vs AFC Fylde
21st December 2030
Luton were relegated from The Championship but found themselves in 21st place in League One in a real struggle for form. Yan Dhanda was impressive for Luton down the wing but Fylde dealt with his aerial balls successfully. 35 minutes gone when John Jones curled the free-kick over the wall with his left foot and scored his second goal of the season! What a goal! The keeper had no chance. Mick Wisdom won the ball back in the centre on 60 minutes and played it to Henderson, but he had to go back to Foster. Henderson got the ball back and immediately passed it wide to Bytheway, Bytheway put it on a plate for Tyrone O'Neill but he headed over the bar. He should have buried it. Mick Wisdom was clutching his knee and couldn't carry on any further. He was substituted on 68 minutes for Daniel Embid. It wasn't much of a spectacle but it was job done for Fylde and they leave Luton with all three points.

Plymouth Argyle vs AFC Fylde
26th December 2030
This season's boxing day fixture took Fylde to the South Coast for a tough match against relegation battling Plymouth Argyle. Jordan Wilson was suspended for this one so in came Daniel Embid alongside Mick Wisdom. Fylde looked nervy at the back and gave away a free-kick which Plymouth struck the post with. Neves was dispossessed outwide by Bytheway and the winger sped forward. He went on an amazing run and played the ball into the feet of Embid whose shot hit the side netting on 20 minutes. Four minutes later, Jones played it to Wisdom who played it back, Jones crossed low into the box and found Bytheway who struck it with venom into the back of the net! The ball was won back in defence and Stockbridge got it to Bytheway, he ran forward again directly at the Plymouth defence who could not handle his pace, he played in Tyrone O'Neill and he blasted the ball home! What a half so far for Fylde. Fylde were doing brilliantly on the counter attack through Bytheway, Henderson and Wisdom all running direct and creating opportunities. Gareth Hanley came on as a second half substitute and was sent off just after 90 minute for a second yellow card. A poor outing for Plymouth and a great away win for Fylde.
DF: We were solid, Foster had little to do and the transition from defence to attack was brilliant. Hopefully we can keep this level of performance going. Vinny Bytheway was at his best out there, that's exactly what we want to see from him.

How much?!?O'NEILL CONTRACTS TALK STALL
Alan O'Neill is a major cog in the wheel at Fylde and his agent Joel Carr let it slip to reporters that Fylde could not meet his clients wage demands on his new contract. Alan O'Neill is reported to be taking £9.5k a week currently making him one of the highest paid players at the club. "There is a lot of interest from clubs in The Championship for my player and Alan wants to play at the highest level possible." Carr stated. Duncan Ferguson is reluctant to let his star player leave the club with his contract due to expire in the summer but could also mean Fylde missing out on a big fee which owner Kevin Ward would want to capitalise on.
