PRE-SEASON SO FAR

Pre-season is underway as Duncan Ferguson sets out to build his sqaud for the oncoming Vanarama National League season. Ferguson has been busy in the transfer window and has strengthened his squad in desired positions as well as showing a clear blueprint for the future as the U18 and U23 squads have had some depth added.



Fylde put in a great performance against Charlton but were unlucky to lose at The Valley. Performances picked up against Burscough and Crusaders with dominant victories as Ferguson rotated his squad wisely between the two fixtures. The best performance came against Rochdale in a comfortable home win as Ferguson's attacking football flourished.

Players such as Danny Rowe, Joe Cardle, Luke Burke and Ellis Simms have all been impressive during pre-season. There is still a lot to come from this group of players but Ferguson has done a tremendous job in obtaining Denver Hume on another season's loan as well as Nathan Ferguson at Centre half.



A capacity crowd saw a spectacle as Duncan Ferguson welcomed his old club to Fylde. Everton started straight out the blocks as Sandro scored a stunning right footed shot from 20 yards out into the bottom right corner. He doubled his lead on 7 minutes with a close range finish but Fylde came into the game against the second-string Everton side with Hume and Rowe both pulling it back for The Coasters. In a game which saw four penalties, Fylde certainly put in a fantastic performance but it was Gylfi Sigurdsson from the spot in the 84th minute which sealed the game.Sandro was in fine form for Everton and is looking to stake a place in the Everton XI. Marco Silva hailed Duncan Ferguson as "one to watch in management" and said the Scot can go on to achieve great things.
