ALLAWAY INJURED

View attachment 84994

Allaway has only just joined the club and it's extremely bad news for Fylde to see Allaway out for the season.

I refer you to this post

Unrelated to the tragedy of watching more disappointment tonight .

I can’t even win when I’m watching someone else generating game on an Everton forum , what’s the point . Once Everton have touched you and all that .

Feels like I’ve been preparing for a global pandemic and daily death numbers since the seventies . On that note I take this allaway injury in my stride .

onwards and upwards fylde .

NATIONAL LEAGUE SEASON 2026/27

AFC Fylde vs Scunthorpe United
8th August 2026

=SCUNTHORPE RESULT.webp

The start of a new campaign brought new optimism to Mill Farm in their bid to challenge for the title once again. Paul Townsend who had rejoined on another season long loan started the match up front and Sam Byram was on the bench. Fylde started the game well, Morgan Feeney looking in great condition and now putting in a mature display at the back. When Okoroji whippd in the corner it was Feeney who got away from his marker and volleyed the ball past the keeper to give Fylde the lead on the stroke of half-time. Fylde were looking dangerous from set-pieces and this time Ryan East whipped in the corner to Josh Ferguson whose shot was closed down and Feeney got a decent strike away but the ball sailed wide. Sam Byram made his Fylde debut with 20 minutes remaining and showed brief glimpses of his attacking intent down the right hand side. Feeney was in great form and earned his side a clean sheet on the opening day.

York City vs AFC Fylde
15th August 2026

=york result.webp

York have always been tough opposition for Fylde and the game started cautiously for both sides. Fylde hit first with minutes remaining until the half when Henderson received the throw from Okoroji and turned his marker breaking free down the left at speed, it was his defence splitting pass that found Townsend to get off the mark and fire Fylde in front. Fylde were excellent in their closing down of the ball and controlling the midfield enabling forward balls down the flanks to create opportunities, Wright-Phillips supplied the cross for Henderson to put Fylde 2-0 up and looking out of sight for York City. Dimitri Sea came on for York and was proving to be a handful, his link up play with Knight and Porsteinsson put Fylde under pressure and when the ball was played into the box for Porsteinsson, Lamptey pushed the winger which resulted in a penalty kick for York. Martin Smith had the better of Hadler sending him the wrong way. The goal certainly a game changer. Porsteinsson pushed forward for York and Lamptey could not contain him, it was possible a time to introduce Byram who could use his experience but Ferguson stuck to his guns, Porsteinsson had a close shot that flew past the face of the goal late on to remind Fylde they need to tighten the game up. Dimitri Sea was looking to create for his team-mates but Mark Connolly put in a good tackle to take the ball from the striker. A tough second half for Fylde but they got the job done.

Euan Henderson picked up a minor injury and was substituted as precaution.

AFC Fylde vs Bromley
18th August 2026

=Bromley result.webp

Bromley came to Mill Farm and set up with two banks of four to try to limit the attacking threat of the home side. Sam Byram got his first start of the season and was brilliant in both defence and attack, the Fylde supporters split on the signing of Byram but performing like he did against Bromley will soon win them over. Frustration was setting in for Fylde and the good defensive job Bromley were doing kept the score at 0-0. Ferguson bolsted his attack bringing on Paul Townsend and eventually found the breakthrough. Croasdale with the long ball from midfield released Tyrone O'Neill who scored his first of the season to finally spread some relief around Mill Farm. A good finish for O'Neill. Tom Hadler kept Fylde in front with a great save from the head of Alex Kiyomya. It was not a very exciting affair at Mill Farm but Fylde made it 3 out of 3 showing some early promise in the National League season.

Kidderminster Harriers vs AFC Fylde
22nd August 2026

=kidderminster result.webp

Most fans were still waiting to enter the stadium when Danny Smith's through ball got to Tyrone O'Neill on 30 seconds, committing his defender into making the challenge the getting it onto his left foot to curl into the bottom left corner. Fylde taking the game straight to bottom of the table Kidderminster. 19 minutes on the clock and winger Danny Smith got supporters on their feet when he made a move down the right, playing it inside to Ferguson who got it over to Henderson, he got his shot on target and the keeper parried it to O'Neill who hit it first time and the keeper made a fantastic second save to keep Kidderminster in the game. Cameron Sangster came close for Kidderminster but Hadler done enough to see it over the bar. Fylde fans had high hopes for winger Danny Smith this season and he scored a fantastic solo effort on 24 minutes when he cut inside on his left foot and rifled on sight of goal to double the lead. It was excellent football from Fylde and 6 minutes later Bret McGavin hit the bar from his 25 yard free kick. Kidderminster were looking more threatening in the second half with Fylde taking a more cautious approach. Mick Wisdom and Kyle MacDonald came on late in the game to tighten up the middle of the park and play the rest of the game out. Fylde recorded a good away win and kept a clean sheet.

DF: After winning the first three, you always wonder when it's going to end and with Kidderminster struggling I would not have been surprised if today was the day but to score after 30 seconds certainly affected Kidderminsters game plan. They had to play football and we doubled our lead. I think we looked good out there, we were strong and pressed well. We can enjoy moments like this because you never know when they come to an end.

I dared to dream when I saw the fixtures of 6 wins in 6 so I'll take 4 in 4 for starters.

WHAT DID I SAY WE NEEDED? Clean sheets that's what! And what do we have here? 3 clean sheets out of 4. That's about the same amount of clean sheets I've had in my house for the past 3 seasons

Feeney maturing into a steadying influence at the back, Big Dunc has an eye for talent. Sod that Britain's got talent crap, should be called Duncs Got Talent!

UTFC!!!

ps Hereford look like they are scoring for fun. Might have to send dirty Doris down there to take one for the team and sort their lads out soon

Dover Athletic vs AFC Fylde
29th August 2026

=dover result.webp

Dover had took 6 points from their first 4 games and a win against an in-form Fylde would put them in the mix early on. The first real chance of the game came on 22 minutes when Wright-Phillips picked the ball up on the right, cut inside on his left taking the ball past two defenders and hammering it into the top left corner, the keeper rooted to the spot. Fylde off to another great start. It wasn't to last long when Dover picked it up in midfield and caught Fylde completely off guard, Clarke getting the ball into the box for Nombe to slide past Hadler who held his arms aloft at his stagnant defence. Fylde took the game to Dover in the second half in desperate need of a winner, Paul Townsend and Mick Wisdom were sent on for Ferguson and Wright-Phillips in attempt to win the game. Tariq Lamptey got forward and managed to break into the area having his shot stopped by Wolland and Townsend followed up also denied by the keeper. Ferguson threw one last roll of the dice, Sam Byram replacing Lamptey on the right. Mick Wisdom drIfted his free-kick into the box on 83 minutes and MacDonald powered a header into the corner of the goal but before celebrations could get underway the goal was ruled out for an apparent foul in the box. With 5 minutes left to play, Dover came forward but Okoroji won the ball back and hit a long ball immediately down the pitch. Webber missed the header and O'Neill was through on goal with only the keeper to beat, O'Neill powered his shot towards the bottom left corner and it hit the net to restore Fylde's lead. Fylde almost settling for a point but Tyrone O'Neill scoring again showing his class and standing up when it counts.

AFC Fylde vs Gateshead
31st August 2026

=Gateshead result.webp

Gateshead were back in the National League after a failed season in League Two, manager Steve Morison wanted his team to bounce straight back but acknowledged it never usually happens first time round. Ryan East was on the verge of making more appearances this season than he did all last season, the midfielder has been out of favour at Mill Farm for the past two seasons but Ferguson has been impressed with his professionalism and attitude to keep working hard. East played a nice one-two with Byram before giving it back to Byram on the right who crossed for Euan Henderson to head Fylde in front on 17 minutes. The Gateshead defence were shaky and struggled to clear from Tyler Garrett's cross, Wright-Phillips picked up on the ball and crossed for Henderson whose header was saved by the keeper. Fylde looking in dangerous form once again. It didnt take long for Mick Wisdom to produce magic when he hit a swerving free kick on 49 minutes that went straight through the keepers hands to double Fylde's lead. The midfielder calm in celebration raising his arms to the air. Gateshead offered little in attack and Wisdom was on top of his game making great tackles to break up their attacks. Fylde were comfortably in front at 2-0 and Gateshead were already on the bus going home.

DF: Not to get ahead of ourselves but we are playing really well and look comfortable in possession. The important thing to remember is this team are growing together and have been around together for a number of years. The important thing for us to do this season was to keep the main core of the squad and make small additions. The players I signed a few years back are now senior members of the team, even though they are still quite young. The next generation will be looking up to them. Lee Lofthouse is now 18 and he's been training with the first team since he was 16, he will be making his breakthrough gradually. We are playing good football and the important thing is to keep a level of consistency. Last season we lost one game and then lost the following nine or something. That is something we cannot do again.
