Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

FYLDE THE BETTER SIDE AT ORIENT

orient result.webp

A last minute winner for Orient saw them take all the points in a match Fylde will be demoralised by. Fylde had 63% possession and 12 shots at goal but just like previous games, it was not enough to get the win. It seems to be the same old story and the fans are starting to lose patience with Duncan Ferguson's tactics.

Duncan Ferguson: We are working really hard to fix this bad run of form. If you watch our recent games you can see we have been the much better team and played the better football. We were unlucky today, I've told the lads not to get downbeat about this because we put in a very good performance and you have to remember two seasons ago, Orient were in league 2 and we were in the National North! They are 4th in the table and have been top for most of the season, to be the better side away from home and lose in the last minute is gutting but we deserved a point out of it. I've told the lads to keep that level of effort and it will come! Luck just isn't on our side right now.

Flyde fans are unsure about Ferguson as manager and the boardd are beginning to listen

DANNY ROWE'S THE COASTERS TO VICTORY!

maidenheadscore2.webp

What a time to get the goal! Danny Rowe with a trademark header in the first half gave Fylde a 1-0 victory over a struggling Maidenhead. Fylde looked confident and assured and it was down to Ferguson's change of formation from his typical 4-3-2-1 to his now 4-2-3-1. A minor change but a massive difference. With Danny Philliskirk playing in the No.10 role, it made all the difference from the standard diamond midfield we are used to seeing. There were still a few nervy moments but Fylde were much better and got a win just at the right time.

It is now up to Fylde to finish as high as they can. It seems safety is secure and maybe play-offs are out of reach, the fans are hoping Ferguson can secure a more respectable league finish. The question is, will the chairman stick with the big man?

Good win mate, that will pipe the ungrateful shower right down ;)

FERGUSON HITS BACK

Boreham wood score.webp

Fylde recorded a good result away from home picking up a point in a game that was more of a good solid defensive display from Fylde but could not open up the game at the other end.

Hartlepool score.webp

Fylde were straight out the gate with Danny Rowe putting The Coasters 2-0 up within the first 5 minutes. Left back Francis-Angol made it 3-0 in the first half as Fylde were totally dominant. Hartlepool grabbed a goal back just after half time then Ferguson opted to a bit more defensive and played the rest of the half in a comfortable fashion. Fylde were the better side looking good in defence and attack. Can they keep this going? It is now 7 points from a possible 9 over the last three games.

Duncan Ferguson: After the game against Boreham I wasn't happy with how we played in the final third so I kept the lads behind late in training yesterday and we went over some attacking drills. It paid off, I don't think we've scored 3 since I've been here!

Well done TPBD, good run your on now, think that's the last 4 unbeaten isn't it with an unlucky loss away to Orient 5 games ago
