Ford Escort Mexico Mk1

All that power with next to no weight.

If you could pick any body style to put Skyline mechanicals in, what would you go for?

Don't know tbh, I love what AC Cobra's look like & they do look like the originals, there are some horrific kit car lookalikes & I saw a pretend ferrari the other week that was also the biggest shed seen on the road in a long time, was getting phone out and someone came back to it so had to do a 'checking my texts' maneuver.

There's nothing worse than a badly done MR2 based Ferrari copy.

I'd shove a Ford 2.9 V6 (Cosworth fettled from the Scorpio) in one of these '33 Ford Coupe replica bodies;

I saw a great little series on Channel 4 a few months ago which was called "For the Love of Cars" which was about a ridiculously skilled mechanic and his mate Phil Glenister (the main character from life on Mars) who took a few iconic cars and restored them for auction. The first of the series being the Ford Escort Mexico.

Here it is if anyone wants to watch it. The whole series is good though and well worth a watch:

I'd love a go in a RS200. I love the fast Ford's in general, all started with the Sierra Cosworth for me. People rave over the Escort Cosworth but for me the Sapphite 4x4 version is the peak. It's also essentially the same as the Escort version but with the body being different.

Seeing as you like Subaru's, are you aware that the now defunct Saab company went into partnership with Subaru and produced an Impreza based Saab 9-2x (non-UK)? I love odd ones like this.

Yeah, the result of GM having a stake in both companies (when they did) trying to jump Saab back to life. It was just a reskinned Impreza WRX wagon

I had a Scorpio Cosworth back in the 90s. Great engine - build quality of the car was not so great...

My dad had a 2.3 version of the last shape. Great all round car. Found the Sierra and Mondeo slightly better personally, but it was a good and massively well equipped rear wheel drive affordable motor.

Mine was the last shape as well. Huge, lot's of gizmos, but half the time the electric roof wouldn't close and interior panels would come off. It was a blast to run, enormous torque through that automatic box

August last year, it's effing awesome, makes the '09 WRX I had look and drive like a sack of spuds. Best WRX/STi ever!
Love the look of those new ones, but for me, it's got to be the 1998 STi 22B or the RB5. And the STi V5&6 will always hold a special place in my heart.

After the underwhelming look of the WRX's in recent years, I am so pleased they have released a great looking WRX again!!!!
