Season 1 finished 5th
Season 2 finished 5th, lost out on Europe by 1 point to Liverpool, that hurt. However, I won the Uefa Cup.
Season 3 8th after 4 games, but I have bought Dzeko in the January of the second season. He has scored 19 in 25 league games for me in total. Damn you Man City.....we sooooo need him. Just beat Barcelona 4-0 in the Super Cup, he scored all 4. Somehow Football Manager is being very kind to me, if only it was this easy!

Thought i'd earn the Everton job so started with Accrington (rock bottom of L2) worked my way up with 3 straight promotions to the PL and got into the Uefa cup. Moyes went to Villa (WTF?) so thought i'd be a shoe in for the job. Next thing I see Sam Allardyce has been given the job. Lasts about 6 months (in which time I get Accy to top 3) and gets fired, I apply for the job and they give it to Alan Shearer. I mean Alan Shearer ffs, wouldn't mind but he's done nothing in management. Bloody Kenwrong.
The game is currently bugged when it comes to manager rep and moving clubs. It'll be fixed in Feb/March.
Tubey, how did you get Yakubu to score? And what did you do with Saha?
Saha offloaded in the first January transfer window to get rid of his £50k wages.
4-4-2 with an AMR/AML, Yak up top as a Poacher, with Cahill playing off him as a Deep Lying Forward.
Just sold Yak to Chelski in the second season as I couldn't get him to accept reasonable wages. Khouma Babacar is insane though - 29 goals in 32 league games, and he's only 19 years old.
Get on this for an end of season finish.

Well I'm on a different story. Injury bound Saha/Yakubu, and got the latter on loan at Milan with an option to buy for 5-6m or so, as even when uninjured i couldn't get him to score often or at all. Could be though that i rarely play the same 4-4-2 you say about, as i usually am with the 4-5-1 (2 MC, AML/R, AMC, Striker). If i have to go defensive with it - i just drop them back a bit.
With what roles do you have them set though? Wingers and Strikers understood, the MC's? And who are your main ones? In my tactic the AMC is a Attacking Midfielder (Attack), one of the MCs is a Ball Winning MF on Support (Fella or Rodders), the other is an Advanced Playmaker on Attack (Arteta, Osman, Pienaar, Billy). Wingers - you can guess who they are (probably can't guess that i bought Albin though :lol), except when i switch things around i put Arteta as a winger and Pienaar/Billy as playmakers and he seems to get the goals. I also have them set to swap positions (the AML and AMR i mean).
