I've said it before and I'll say it again, their earlier stuff is awesome. Their newest album was pop rock, to be fair. I've overheard chavs talking about how "sick" the Pretender is... I had to fight to keep my lunch down.

But their earlier stuff, from their debut up until One By One, is just brilliant. In Your Honor started the trend of pop rock, whilst still having some good tracks, but what they've said about and shown from their new album is that it's going to be hard rock. Think "Weenie Beenie" or "Wattershed".

That's a fair comment (see my chav "sick" thing).

But they have their merits. I'm not saying they are or ever were innovative game changers. They're a good modern rock band though, and in the 90s they were ace.

Whatever though. I'm not going to waste my time fighting a cause for an already successful band. I'll save my words for artists that actually need some new fans!

Weird. I thought everyone liked the Foos...all down to personal choice though.

Personally I love them and will be seeing them live twice this year. Surely nobody can deny they are great live?!

They are absolutely friggin' ace live. I saw what was possibly their first UK show in the tent at Reading in, I think, '95.

I've never liked any of their records very much, mind.

first 2 albums pretty good they've lived off the fumes of those songs though for years well past their best

In fact i'm going to say this IMO they've always been a "pop" band the more they "rock" out the sillier they sound everlong,learn to fly great heavy pop songs,breakout again good song but the recent rawk ****e is just that an attempt at gaining credibility within heavy rock circles and frankly they fail at it.
