My go to fix for all ailments is basically Lucozade for hydration and multipacks of quavers for some taste, coupled with paracetamol and ibuprofen… then just ride it out until it passes naturally

Garlic is a pretty good one; it's far better as preventative measure but still works well as a cure. Try a load of it in some tomato soup.

When you start to get the chesty cough then put some vicks* into a bowl of boiling water and place your head over it with a towel covering everything and keeping the steam going right into your mush. This will break up the phlegm. Spit any loose stuff into the water. This isn't a spectator sport after all.
Then with vicks* on rubbed onto the soles of your feet, put some socks on and get to bed.
