Ok I can't argue with that. Surprised there's so few assists there.
Ive just had a quick look and in his defence though Lanzini has played less minutes (about 13 or 14 games worth) and it's since Payet's departure that he's kicked on, although still not getting the assists I expected.
It's more from an 'eye test' perspective. He's a lot more involved and can run the game better than what Barkley has. Perhaps if there were stats for assisting the assister he'd do well if you see what I mean.

Modric never had good stats at Spurs. This is the thing with stats isn't it. Some players stand out others go under the radar. Tadic for example, always posts great stats and he's nothing special.

Well thats why I said stats dont really matter, but you implied he created, I merely pointed out that the stats show that not to be the case, also if you look at the stats on the other page, not only does he not have many assists, he also simply doesnt create a thing, stats wise.

But as you say, the eye test, my eyes tell me hes fairly decent, a 1 in 35 player.

Lanzini is being linked with Chelsea. Cost West Ham £9.4m so wouldn't be cheap.
