was at that game, ended up on a random bus ride around moss side, dont know what i was playing at just jumped the first bus outside the ground, and away i went didnt have a clue were it was going, just for a bit of an adventure, it was one scary looking place Moss side, eventully i asked the driver to put us off as near to the station as it was going, which wasnt very close , i got sussed by some manc lads on the bus, and managed to bluff it out till the bus stopped, basiclly just fronted them smacked the biggest fooker and stood over them seated at the back, telling them what i was going to do to them , the bus stopped and i bolted it before they got brave, only to jump off right in the middle of a massive crew of there lads, had to walk with them back to the station looking like i belonged, god that was one scary walk, one of there older black lads was well onto me and my mate ,but give him credit he didnt take an easy target like an awful lot of teams would have done, i was only about 16 at the time, just told us to run when the cops finally arrived, he could have hammerd us easy if he wanted, but it was easy picking and he was after bigger and harder than us two, only other place it happened to me was at leeds in a cup game around the same time,Had loads of trouble over the years with them over the years, but have got a few mates that support them as well, not a bad bunch pre arabs

Hands up if you love edge recalling his youth.

cant spell, grammer awful and more importantly dont want to go to jail or send anybody else there, its a very waterd down version of events i post on here. there are lots of blues from the same era that would write a much better one.

Grammar and spelling doesn't matter mate. Someone would happily do that for you.

I think you and Fox play yourself down too. Your stories are ace and you don't boast. You tell it as it was.

*puts hand up

My old man used to go to a lot of the games in the 70's but never told us about the fights. I'm a lover not a fighter. How scary must it have been to go to the match.

I travel up from london for all the matches and always engage with some lads from the opposing fans inc rs. Haven't once thought about giving one of them a slap. What a different era.

better now mate , sounds good but despite what you hear , most going the game would have settled for a nice day out if they had the choice , despite the bravado, it was it was scary anyone telling you they havnt run, been done in bottled it is either a lair, wasnt there or mad as a hatter there were a few of those about as well ,you were in danger, and to be honest were a danger half the time, a lot of innocent people got hurt , it total bu****e that only boys did boys despite what a lot of the books say, i only post on it most of the time to give an insight other than the press( or some of the books not all by the way),make out it was a jolly boys outing with a bit of a sing song and a dance around the pavements with the odd boot thrown in, it was a time and place long ago diffrent era diffrent mindset and best left there in the past.

proper drip no shoulders and very average, better than davis mind, bad time for keepers those days, didnt mind jim arnold or mcdouough at times but those first two were awful.

Always thought we should have kept Hodge, very solid keeper and had a good career at Sheff Weds.

he was a good steady keeper Hodge, i thought lacked a bit of confidence when he was with us, it was one of the biggest mistakes of all time not getting shilton in, rumour had it that it was boxed off but we wouldnt pay his wage demands, the thomas, latchford team would deffo have got the lg that year with a top class keeper

Yeah, remember that,I seem to recall Pejic being signed under the premise that his team mate Shilton would be joining him, definately would have made a big difference to us,Georgie Wood was decent but never in Shiltons class.
