FCConnecticut

Player Valuation: £2.5m
I am getting so excited at the possibility of getting both Yak's and Fernandes that it makes me ponder what our first team might look like down the line.

Assuming Neville remains captain and on the field I see something like this:

Nev, Yobo, Lescot, Baines
Jags
Arteta, Fernandes, Pienaar/Osman?
Yak's, AJ

I guess I'm fuzzy on the wings but looks about right, no?

I think its going to be a tough battle between Pienaar and Osman. Osman can sometimes put in some good runs and even better efforts on goal, but personally I find that he gives the ball away too much whether it be by passing or running into other players.
Havent seen enough of Pienaar but the few glimpses looked promising.

that team looks quality connecticut.

an average age of about 25 aswell!

Yes I think your absolutely correct. Ossie & Pienaar are very similar. The hope I have for Stephen is he doesn't drift inside with more pace he can provide us the width we need.(y)

Does look very good that team. Hope we can field it this season... with Cahill, Vaughan, Fadden, Stubbs, Carsley, Hibbert... to choose for subs.. (y)

This is the other really interesting part. How do you find enough playing time for someone like Cahill, Vaugh and Faddy. Will we ever see VDM?

Vaughan is the perfect sub for AJ, a bit Moyes played Rooney and Radz. Radz started and Rooney came on since his style was similar.

Cahill is a player who benefits more from a 4-5-1 or perhaps a 4-4-2 diamond.

DM: Jags
CM: Arteta, Fernandes
AM: Cahill

sounds fairly interesting.. :)

Faddy might like to play in the same position as Cahill, at the top of that diamond.

Even if we get both of these players, we can't play them in each and every game.. they need to rest to stay on top of their game. To have great subs then that has been given opportunities to come in as subs in many games and to get their chances from start? That's priceless I think.

OK, I know this will never happen, but imagine this lineup against one of the weaker teams (3-4-3):

Howard
Yobo-Lescott-Baines
Arteta-Jags-Fernandes-Cahill
AJ-Yak-Vaughan

Play that lineup against Fulham and win 8-4!

One of the things I was leading up to in this thread but never got to is this. What happens when Cahill is healthy? Let's say we have Fernandes, another forward and everyone is healthy, then what?

Spoilt for choice is what happens. I t means Moyes has a 'selection headache', which is what you want to have. I guess it all depends on the opponents and how Moyes wants to play. I see Cahill being employed away from home in a 5 man midfield, as the AM. Or as the tip of a 4 man diamond 4-4-2.

Then we change the rules so its 13-a-side.

There will be other injuries, other than that its survival of the fittest. We will have something we have not had for beards, quality competition in almost all areas of the squad.

I hear you but who do you sit? Vic I can see but what if we have Yak's? Do you still play a 4-5-1?
