First match: Everton v Walsall FA Cup 4th Round 5th February 1972

Best Match: Everton v Watford FA Cup Final 1984

First match: Everton vs Newcastle, 30th December 2006. Won 3-0, they missed a pen and also for some reason remember one of their players having to take Given's kicks as he had some injury.

Best match: Decided to go with the Gosling derby in '09. Great atmosphere, scoring in the final minutes of extra time in a cup derby, under the floodlights at Goodison Park, there aren't many games that get better than that.

Special mentions go to the 1-0 win against City, January 2012. 2-1 win away to them in December 2010, first Everton away game, the 1-0 win against United at the start of last season and the 1-0 win against them last week.

first - Everton 0 Nottingham Forest 0 from 90-91 (iirc)

best - Everton 3 Arsenal 1 from 91-92. Elton Welsby (correctly) claimed we could have had seven or eight in the highlights programme that night, we battered the reigning champions that much I honestly thought we would win the league.

First game - 95-ish against Arsenal, All I remember is Bergkamp and Wright scoring for the Gunners

Best game - So many to pick from, both wins and defeats but I would have to say the Fiorentina game in 08, not one game before or since has been as loud to the point of making me go briefly deaf as it did that night. Absolutely mental scenes when Arteta scored the leveller, knew at that point what it must of felt like to the older gen during the Bayern semi

First:

Sheffield United 2 Everton 1 - Rumbelows Cup
Awful. Nevin scored from a cross for us.

Best:
Sheffield Wednesday 2 Everton 5

At the absolute peak of his powers.

I was at the shef weds game mate, the finest individual performance i have ever seen from a everton player, the highlights dont do justice to just how amazing he was on that day, most exciting player i've ever seen play for us

First Match: 5 years old, Upper Bullens night game 76-77 v Coventry City league cup game. Coventry had a brown kit with stripes on the front. No idea what the score was. (Googled it: 3:0). I Just remember the green turf under the floodlights left me in awe, and a strong smell of cigar smoke.

Best Game: 1985 v Bayern Munich 3 - 1. I was in the lower Glad behind the goal sat on one of the bars. Missed Trevors goal because as he was put clean through by Gray the Glad surged forward and knocked me off the bar and onto my hands and knees. It took me about 30 seconds to get back on my feet after we had scored. Boss night though!

1st i think it was 1989, was definitely Tony Cottee's debut, i think he scored a hat-trick. Against Newcastle it was, opening day of the season. Think we walloped them about 4-1, with some Brazilian also making his debut getting sent off for them if i remember correctly (Mirandhina?). Some (or all :)) details may be wrong here, but that's how i remember it

West Brom at the start of this season. A thoroughly frustrating 0-0 draw which were clearly the height of WBA's ambition on the day and where we looked disjointed and struggling to adapt to Roberto's new passing style. Seems another world away now

First Match, beat Sydney FC 2-0, best match a few days later when we beat Brisbane 1-0. Only reason it was better is that I was sober enough to remember it

First: Home vs Newcastle United October 1977. Brilliant 4-4 draw.
Best: Got to be the European Cup Winners Cup Final, Rotterdam 1985

1999 - Everton 6 West Ham 0
My name got announced at half time. Had to piss so badly and my friend made me stay to hear it. "All the way from California...."

Completely hooked as an Evertonian after that.

First - 1985 Everton 6 - 1 Arsenal
Best - 1985 Everton 2 - 0 QPR ( watching us win the league )

First - some time in the 60s (but I'd have to ask my Dad - his first Everton match was Highbury 38-39 Tommy Lawton played (and one of his uncles took him to Stamford Bridge to see Chelsea slam The RS 6-0) - he was born in Liverpool but lived in London in the 30s.

First match I think I can remember was a 1-0 loss at home to Leeds in 1970.

Best - probably QPR 1985 but every game is great (especially those we win).

Worst - that could be The Glenn Keeley game or 0-4 at home to Bolton 2005.

Son's first game would be a dire 0-0 draw in early 90s also against QPR (he was 4 years old)
