Player Valuation: £225k
Finnish goalie Jukka Lehtovaara (21) has today travelled to Liverpool for the weekend to take a trial at Everton. (his Finnish club TPS announced today) He is the most promising young Finnish goalie and has been the number one choice for his club team the past few seasons. As a Finn I have to say I'm pretty excited about this, he is one of the only Finns I would like us to sign. If the club doesn't announce anything, I will keep you updated if there comes any new info from his club or any Finnish papers (two main tabloids wrote about it on their website)

Here is a youtube link from one his games this season (goalie for black and white team, some nice goals in there and also two saves for him at 5.20 and 6.45)
YouTube - TPS - FC Lahti 5-2, YLE TV2 13.9.2009

As I mentioned earlier, he is meant to be the successor for Jussi Jääskeläinen in the national team, and the biggest goalie prospect in Finland (and buying from Finland, he wouldn't be expensive!!!). Hopefully he will make an impression.

Most consistent keeper in Prem' for last 5 years .
If this kid is anything like him , SIGN HIM ON !!!

As a season ticket holder of TPS I would like to comment this.

Everton would get a great keeper prospect if they decide to buy him, he is very good at reflex saves, can make exceptional saves, has been very consistent this season and on first one, second one wasn't that good. He has improved his flaws a lot during this season, he wasn't too good at crosses and kicking the ball before this season but now he is at least adequate on those too. All in all he is a guy who has been going forward all the time, so I believe he would be great replacement for Howard when he goes.

Also Everton has been tracking him for a year now, so i'm quite sure they are aware of his pro's and cons already.

Thanks for the local heads up. Always appreciate those in the local know coming onto GOT and giving us some insight we'd never get anywhere else. Well done.

This kid seems decent. Hope it works out.

Gonna go all FM on us now, but should we ever come into some money, there are a few decent young keepers out there.

Rene Adler-24. Plays for Bayer Leverkusen, and is just about imposing himself as Germanys number 1.

Manuel Neuer-23. Plays for Schalke. One of Germanys highest rated young keepers (along with Adler)

Igor Akinfeev. 23. Plays for CSKA Moscow. Russias undisputed number 1. Hugely talented, has been heavily linked with United, who I think will make a move for him in one of the next windows.

Steve Mandanda. 24. Plays for Marseille. Don't know too much about him, but he competes for the france goalkeepng spot with Lloris. Aston Villa had him on trial prior to the 07/08 season. They must be kicking themselves now.

Hugo Lloris. 23. Plays for Lyon. Very talented, has just started to get his grip on the number 1 spot for france.

These are the worlds top, young keepers (that I know of). They all play for relatively smallish clubs (no disrespect meant), with the exception of Lloris. In the not so distant future, we should be looking to get one of these guys in.

However ,this isn't FM, so this post is probably a waste of time. ust my thoughts.

Add Ochoa, Asenjo and Akinifeev to that list.

He's there.

Dont know about Ochoa too much, not familiar with the mexican league.

Forgot about Asenjo.

Any others? That Argentinian at Alkmaar?
