Finishing Position

Two games in and the thread about us being worse than last year and in danger of relegation has been replaced by this one going giddy with some suggesting we’ll be top six. I’m still sticking to 7th or 8th but with decent cup run and more entertaining football.

following football is meant to be fun pal, get behind the lads and get excited. you might enjoy it

I agree it’s a strong start and footballs better. So far it’s a positive experience. Think I said that. Just think it’s too early to start being over confident at this stage. If we maintain this til November then I’ll get excited. But it’s a long Hard season and we have played too lower league sides. We would have prob had 4 points from these games last season.

Nope, we would certainly have lost to Wolves on last season's form - having had a player sent off. There were a few hectic moments on Saturday - especially after their goal, that last season may have seen us draw rather than win. Last year - probably 1 point from those two games, this year 4.

If you look at the fixture list we have winnable games each month so we shouldnt get into a stage of going on a long losing/drawing or a long losing run. We are realistically likely to go on a run of losing and drawing but this should not be a sustained period (hopefully). This allows us to maintain confidence and momentum which we couldn’t do last year and so I think 6th is a possibility.

We did win some games last season. It wasn’t pretty last year but you don’t finish 8th without picking up points against the two teams we just played.
Crux of the matter, I’m happy, footvall is more inspiring. If we finish 7th or 8th with good football it’s a platform to build on. It one or more of the big sides capitulate and we finish higher than that is brilliant

Well we wouldn't would we? In a bizarre quirk of fate, we actually played Southampton at home last year aswell, and we only took 1 point from the game.

arsenal

its mine finish list..

its logical if team can be focus for each individual match..

If we stay relatively injury free, digne slots in and does what Coleman can, Bernard provides the magic and our front four thrive as they started to show on Saturday, we have every chance of challenging arsenal and Chelsea for 6th.

I like how silva has said the new lads need to show they are worthy of the first 11 and that in turn has spurred snides, Keane and siggy to step up.

It’s looking positive but most importantly, we are playing good, exciting football.
