Since Arteta's injury our midfield has looked ****e whenever Cahill wasn't playing there. If Saha doesn't make it I'd rather gamble on starting Vaughan than move Cahill up front.
 

But Cahill is always a bigger goal threat when he's pushed further up. You're spot on in saying the midfield has been poor without him but if we were short of options up front I'd rather put him up front & hope the rest of the midfield can create without him. Risking Vaughan should not even be considered, he's had so much bad luck that putting him in before it's certain that he's ready would be a really poor decision.
