Financial Fair Play investigation

In the unlikely event of a transfer embargo of a window - am I right in saying that a club would then have the right to appeal this to the Court of Arbitration for Sport?

If so, and the commission report concluded we had a transfer ban for next summer we'd be able to get past that window and buy the strikers we need.
There is no right of appeal to CAS (there wont be for city either)

Maybe this is related to the City case? City could point to Everton not being investigated if they're getting investigate it and it could weaken the commission;s case against them.
The penalty cannot be relegation, it can result in the club being kicked out of the Premier League. There is no guarantee that the club will be given a place in the Championship, the Championship clubs need to vote on whether to accept the club into the Championship or not. If they vote against it, then the relegated club applies to L1 and so on until a league accepts them.

Think we'll get away with it. We presumably had multi year deals with USM, megafone and alike - you can't really plan to cut 25 odd million out of your expected budget within a season. Mitigating circumstances.
It's not really mitigating circumstances to say your shady funding deals with a shadowy undeclared owner fell apart because he was sanctioned for being cronies with a warmonger. If anything that's a can of worms that could make things much worse.

Note it says the charge relates to the period ending with the 21/22 season. It’s not that one season/accounts that are the problem, it will be the 3 year period (average losses) that ended with that season. That 3 year period included loads of significant financial events. Covid, weird Finch Farm sponsorships, stadium naming rights etc etc.

But would have thought that if we were being transparent and running all proposed expenditures past the PL, it was to ensure the 3 year average was compliant? Very odd. There is no way the PL is disputing the audit opinion of the external auditors on the Covid affected accounts. They don’t win that war.

Quite likely the Covid rules were so poorly written and we exploited them to the max, but did not break them. But those we have offended by doing this are now attacking from a different angle.

Still a load of nonsense from a sporting perspective.

I cant see how the premier league can do anything aside from negotiating a small fine..

If they had a case it would have been clear when we were sending them reports

We didn't sign Dwight McNeil for THIS.

How does this work while the RS are demanding their pennypinching owners magically make hundreds of millions available to them? Just wondering... I mean, surely they wouldn't get some kind of dispensation or something... :dodgy:
