I'm pretty relieved now that Mikel the magician will be once again be entrusted in taking all our set pieces. That means more goals and hopefully more goals from Cahill

Baines' deliveries have been very poor this season.

This would be my pecking order for the responsibilites of set pieces:

1. Arteta (everytime but when he's not fit)
2.Donovan
3.Billy ( I know he has it in him, just needs to be given the oppurtunity)
4.Pienaar ( he can deliver em well but not the best at set pieces still in my books but better than Baines)

5.Baines (when there's noone else)

have to go now, but why wasn't Arteta brought on before he was today.

too late to make a difference. :dodgy:

Haven't seen him take corners for us? They never beat the first man.

Baines has lost form in set pieces

I only saw Billy taking corners against AEK Athens at GP and he set up the goal with his first corner and the 2nd corner. Since then,It's been Baines' left foot which has been very dissapointing. The only other left footed candidate is Billy and he can take them, he took them at Locomotive aswell

So far the pace of our league has him struggling. He is a work in progress but you could see today he just can't play a tight game Brum was springing on him. I just don't think he has a confidence boost to up his game yet.

First game back after a year? I'm surprised Moyes played him at all to be honest.

Like I said, in his first (full) game.

His deliveries in the games after that were dire.

True and that's why I want to give him some responsibility. Something he knows he is good at even when he's having a bad game.

He was much much better than Baines even when not at his best. Noone can deliver them inch perfect week in week out.

They used to be. Then they went crap.

It was the same thing the majority of times. The 2 hands go up and the first man is hit.

Its long been a problem of ours poor set pieces. Yet we still seem to score a lot from them

The lack of good set pieces have contributed to Cahill's lack of goals this season apart from the fact that his overall game has been pretty poor
